That's a crock! I emailed GW UK and referenced my order number. MO Troll said that they would be sent out sometime early January. Maybe he meant just the international. :(

Getting the packet weeks before anyone else must be home field advantage!

Star Players

Post by gallowin »

Burning question: does the packet indicate whether Star Players are full price or free boot price? Makes a difference in figuring out the tourney team.

Trambi: you don't have to be worried. I bought enough minis in UK to say the delay should be sometimes a little bit longer (I guess GW will send them via airmail... not surface mail, I hope!).

EDIT: back on the topic, I think I will play lizzies... Rough, agile, I like them. But I'm also very tempted in playing Orcs... For a lot of reasons ;) including Varag ones

The main problem with lizzies is when you can't play their running game... whereas humans or other teams should play a pass strategy, you can't. I also have some problems with running my defence (I used to play a deep defence). ANd just a last note about Lizardmen: I'm nearly sure the Key isn't the ST4 of Sauruses, but the combo MA8, dodge and stunty of skink. I still appreciate to see the face of my opponent when 4 skinks are in his part of the pitch... the ball protected by a small cage of saurus...

I think what pople should remember is that you are constructing a team for a series of one off games, not for a campaign. THAT is why stars will cost full price.

I'm feeling fine about not having me ticket, despite my paranoia, because I checked my bankslips and GW took what looks like it should be about 40 quid (dependant on exchange rate, not sure what it was exactly then. Gone down a bit now dammit.) from my account the next monday.

MY TICKET DROPPED THROUGH THE DOOR TEN MINUTES AGO.

Note to all hopefuls: There's a card we have to return to show we're still up for coming. ANy tickets not "claimed" by valentines day will be resold or something like that! Lose not hope Darkson!

My tickets arrived just this morning (here in germany) - so there is good hope for all who live abroad.

To clear things out: you can only buy ONE Starplayer for the FULL price ... Base scenario is 1.000.000 gc

I think we will see quite a few Griff Oberwalds again .. *sigh*

Bum, still not got my ticket here in UK so you people abroad need not worry yet, bit peeved that they got sent out to germany and sweeden, yet i still am lacking.

One star player puts a ruin to my plans, sure its a pain to lots of goblin coaches as well :/

Thats mysterious Grumbledook ...

BTW did the Skaven mini arrive ? I have sent it to you long before christmass ... haven't heard anything from you since then.

Personally I would have prefered no star players at all, but hey that's a thing GW can't really consider - right

Stitched up my devious Chaos roster. Anybody fancy Borak/Ripper Bolgrot/Thrud? :o
I think we'll see less variation now, which is probably a bad thing. With just one star, certain races are almost no brainers. I think I'm still gonna go with Chaos, and I expect the vast majority of Chaos rosters will be very similar to what I'm thinking of.

I may yet just take my Res. Undead line-up though.

And if I was playing Humans, I'd take Zug above Griff. Probably.
