My humans are the Blackwater Barbarians, following the simpe trick of taking a Warhammer location and tacking on a football (or in this case rugby) team name.

My norse are the Skræddere af Jorvik, which is silly but suitable ;)

Hammerforge Runesmiths: Dwarfs. Boring fluffy names.
Heralds of Hashut: Chaos Dwarfs. Babylonian names for the Dwarfs, and typical one syllable gross sounding names for the Hobbos (Flik, Grug, Kronk)
Court of the Crimson King: Underworld. Every player has the name of a character from the song of the same name by King Crimson (Keeper of the City Keys, Pattern Juggler, Purple Piper, etc)

The team I enjoy playing the most in my league;
The Barren Greenbacks, coached by the dastardly Baron Greenback.
Team members include Stiletto Mafiosa, Copper Conk Cassidy, Nero, Doctor Augustus P. Crumhorn III, J. J. Quark, El Loco, Mac the Fork, and many more.

(Astute readers will note a theme in those names......)

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

My goblins are the Bad Moon Wunderstuff and for reasons I cannot fathom I love that name :D
Necromantic are the Nightmare Wanderers
Skaven are the Haarlem Sewer Trotters

Naming a new team is part of what I really like about the game ... and I get unneccessarily upset when I can't think of a good 'un!

Some Team/Player names of mine:

Necro 1: Live Fast, Die Young (Coach: Good Looking Corpse): Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Robert Johnson and other rockstars who died at age 27.
Necro 2: Dead Poets Society (Coach: Homeros): William Shakespeare, Charles Baudelaire, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and other ... well, dead poets!
Skaven: the Rat Pack (Coach: Lauren Bacall): Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Humphrey Bogart and other singers/actors from that era.
Chaos 1: Viva La Revolucion (Coach: Mikhail Bakunin): Maximillien Robespierre, Ruhollah 'Ayatollah' Khomeini, Ernesto 'Che' Guevara and other revolutionaries
Chaos 2: The Nuclear Age (Coach: J. Robert Oppenheimer): Chernobyl, Fukushima Daiichi, Three Mile Island and other nuclear disasters.

I have more teams, but their names won't make sense to non-dutch speakers.

I've got several names I tend to re-use, and some races that I just can't think of a good naming scheme for.

Some of my real-life sports parodies:
Chaos: Beat-em-up Cult (taken from former NFL team Baltimore Colts)
Orc: Noo Orc Jiantz

Some awful-pun names I use:
Goblin: Gitz n Shigglez
Orc: Orcspendables - all named after action heroes
Slann: Reservoir Frogs - with all the players obviously named Mr {colour}
Undead: P Diddy's Christmas Card List - (mostly) dead rap stars
Vampire: A bunch of Counts

And then some "proper" themed teams:
Elf: White Lightning - all named after cheap ciders
High Elf: Sparkling Spellweavers - posher cousins of above, named after champagnes
Ogre: Far Far Away Fairytales - Shrek characters
Vampire: Sunnydale Razorbacks - Buffy characters
Skaven: Nuffle's 13 - similar to someone's above, all named after actors from (the original) Ocean's 11
Norse: Fourteen(ish) Norsemen of the Apocalypse - started off with proper signs of the apocalypse, then ended up with the kind of things you'd see in Daily Mail headlines
Human: Tilea Slammers - all named after cocktails (with a pseudo-Italian base to the names)
Plus two teams named around Anchorman characters... Dwarf: Beards of Zeus and Norse: Great Odins Ravens

Yes... I spend too long thinking up team names and themes :-?
