Pete: Bet one for bad, two for good! ;)

Wilf: We know you've been there and done that, all students up here have at some point I'm certain! :p

Hangus: Hotel has 'secure' parking. As far as I remember it was off street round the back of the hotel, had CCTV, but no attendant overnight? Give them a bell if you'd like to clarify, but I was assured it was safe when I originally enquired?

Hangus - parking is off the street at the back, they have quite a few spaces running the length of the hotel.

I've stayed at the hotel for a stag in the past, and we all parked there with no problems.

Hi Everyone;

i'll be heading up friday afternoon, on my motorbike.

fingers crossed the weather holds off, if not, i'll be giving my Goretex gear a thorough road test!

can't promise to be very socialable on nights as i've been fighting lurgy since monday! i could well be retiring to my romm with a beechams! :(

glad to hear parking is ok, as was a little bit worried about leaving bike outside! i'll be bringing cover & chain, so will find something to secure it too!

as they say in France, Adam Ant!
(or something like that!)

cheers,

Ti

Big Pete: RE Room - what name is it in!?

All done and dusted, and (I think) everything went smoothly and everyone enjoyed the weekend!

1st - Geggster (Necro)
2nd - Wilf (Dorfs)
3rd - Hangus (Norse)
Most TD's - Stick (Woodies)
Most Cas - Jimany (Flings)
Best Painted - Pippy (Khemri)

Will sort some full results when I get my laptop out tomorrow, and will send them off to Pippy and Dave to get NAF'ed up. Think Pippy's in charge of registering the new guys and getting results inputted, adn he's away for a week, so don't expect much quickly!

Thanks for making the event run as smoothly as it did with no arguements or problems at all, thoroughly enjoyed myself with my crap-tastic Underworld (They really are bad, especially with a lack of skills), and thanks to Ian, Barry, Phil, James, Pete and Graeme for six great games.

See you next year!

Top notch event, thanks to dave and the geordies for putting on a good show. And congrats geggster on the win!

On a side note of LRB6 halflings: Its getting a little silly isn't it? They are just too good, I out bashed 3 dwarf teams this weekend, and satisfying as that was its just not on.

OI! Don't knock the "Flingers", :D

Did Pippy win best painted with his "NEver-used-them-before" wood elves?

I very much doubt all the 'fling changes will make the final cut.

Good one, Dave. Great tourney.

And ditto on the halfling changes. Jimmy's a top-player, but mobile trees, chef and dodge players that hide behind a slowly advancing wall, are a total nightmare to play against.

They were top tables all weekend, as were Rooney's flings at Albabowl a few weekends ago. Silly.

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when they find out, you're a mile away...... and you have their shoes.

Congrats Paul. With Necros too ... I wouldn't have thought they'd do well with degenerating skills.

I expect to see that NAF trophy painted up and being used as a turn marker at Spiky!

Concur that the flings were just crazy good.

As was the weekend, had a lot of fun and it's definitely in the calendar for next year.

Blackshirts finishing 1, 2, 3, 4 was another highlight :P

Dave;

Excellent tournament!

Well worth the 3 1/2 hour bike ride up & back, while full of lurgy & doped up to the eyeballs with half of Boots' Pharmacy Dept!

Date definitely in Diary for next year!

As for venue, 'New Northumbria Hotel' was a cracking place to stay! £70 per ngt sounded steep but when shared (thx 4 letting me in Big Pete & thx 2 Gobbo 4 pulling out!) it was actually fantastic value considering the fat boy breakfast; very decent sized rooms; on site location (that extra 1/2 hour in bed is always appreciated) & what was with that awesome Happy hour in the Bar! :P

I've paid more for a lot less!

Once again, thanks for a great wkd, had some mad games & hope to see a few more of you later in year at either: Rocket Bowl, Strong Bowl or Gryphon Bowl...

Ti
