We welcome you all to the Welsh National Championships returning in 2023 to it's January timeslot

When: 14th & 15th January 2023

Where: Firestorm Games, Sloper Road, Cardiff

Parking: There is limited parking at the venue plus some on Bessemer Road which is at the crossroads a couple of hundred yards down Sloper Road from Firestorm games.

Allan's' printers is not open at the weekend and some patrons seem to use that on busy days, it is next to Firestorm Games but this is at your own risk.

There is also the large retail park just behind Firestorm Games by Cardiff City's stadium with a public path that connects to Sloper Road. Parking there is only for limited time and no return but you can park in the Asda car park there and pay for the day or weekend.

What do you get: 6 rounds of Blood Bowl, food both days

What should you bring: Your team which must be painted to 3 colours minimum, based and WYSIWYG, proxies are allowed but must be themed to match as a team and positions must be clearly identifiable, a pitch, your dice, any relevant markers, tokens, tables and templates

Rules: The latest GW ruleset will be used along with the latest spike and almanac. All teams approved by the NAF are allowed. Rounds will be Swiss as per the Tiebreakers and the tournament will be Resurrection so all players fully healed after every game

Team value: 1.2 mil

Team building rules: Only teams in tier 3 may take a single star and only once the team has 11 starting players. No journeymen (except riotous rookies), no mercenaries (including no giants) and no Special Play Cards but all other inducements are allowed subject to the team restrictions. Each team will get a free Team Mascot as per Death Zone

Skills: Each team has 48 spp to distribute amongst its players. There are no random skills and no stat increases but players can take singles, doubles and stack skills as per the spp cost in the Advancements Table

Tournament Scoring: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a loss & -15 for conceding

Tiebreakers: In order of head to head, strength of schedule, touchdown difference, casualty difference, chicken

Prizes: Winner, Runner Up, Third Place, Most Touchdowns, Most Casualties, Stunty Cup Winner, Top Welsh Player, Best Painted

Timings: All rounds will last a maximum of 2 hours and 15 mins and will be called by the referees should that time expire. If you or an official think that your game will not be completed within that time a time clock will be enforced
