let me start by saying I love the overall look, but I miss the dynamism of a diving tackle piece. Don't get me wrong, I do NOT want some of the ridiculous upside down gymnastics poses we have seen from other mini producers of late :puke: , but I do want a blitzer pose that is different from the linemen. a Slann blitzer is not just a lineman with a helmet on, so try to give him a slightly more interesting pose maybe??

just my usual $0.02

That just reconfirms it, If Star players are as cool or cooler that this then I will be in. Please tell me you plan to do Star players, even just for Stretch goals

Agree. Something like Catcher 1 from the second edition team would be a great diving catch blitzer:

I actually think the types of poses used in 2nd and 5th edition blood bowl are good guides for balancing some dynamic poses with functional models that are over the top.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Please bear in mind that these are not indicative of the final poses, these are concept art for the overall style, uniform etc... The plan is to have dynamic (but not ridiculous) poses for each positional.

And yes... My plan is to cover all star players as stretch goals much in the same way as Iron Golem did for their recent campaign

Even though my wallet still hurts from the Iron Golems campaign, I am very much looking forward to seeing how this project progresses.

Yeah, have a slann team already, but these are pretty cool. Wasn't sold on the original sketch (I'm in the tall alien camp) but coming round with this guy! Looking forward to seeing the others, may well chuck a few quid in :)

J_Bone, what are your ideas for the big guy? Do you rather prefer a lizard- or toad-like big one? (not sure if this was already discussed here?! Sorry if...)

And what does blood bowl history tell us about the slann kroxigor?? Is it really the think GW sold once as Blood Bowl kroxigor?

Fluff-wise, there is no difference between the Lizardmen Krox and the Slann version. The Slann created Lizardmen back in the day as workers and/or slaves (depending on which version you're reading)

just don't do the catchers like the 5th ed gw pro elf catchers. not only do they look like they are diving into a pool, but that "stub" that they "stand" on looks terrible.
of course, YMMV...

great looking blitzer, btw. and i love the idea about seperate heads. really good idea. little things like the ability to do head swaps make the team more fun to build.

I like the continuity between the linefrog and the blitzer (which you can see with the body, arms and legs). I am liking the helmet design and I also feel that the slit vision eye pieces give the stereotypical "frog look" without the need to paint the pupils on them, not that I dislike helmet 2, and makes them stand out more to the eye. I also like the option to choose between the two helmets for individualising the blitzers and the metal mohawk-type divider which makes me think of him as some kind of cyber-frog.

J_Bone, you mentioned that you were going to be influenced by the style of the 2nd Ed blood Bowl mini's (some of which are my favourite BB mini's too and you can see that in your concept art) but I would like to see more of an Aztec-look or style to his shoulder pads. Maybe in the form of Aztec engraving or Mayan/ Slann style glyphs on one of his shoulder pads instead of 2 spikes? I don't know exactly, but something as a nod to their 1980's Warhammer Aztec-themed design (Aztec frogs from outer space), which wouldn't take anything away from his overall 2nd Ed Blood Bowl look. Whether that's possible or not I don't know.
Other than that I am loving everything so far and I will be wanting to buy me a team as soon as it is possible

On that topic, I'd like to point out that one of the defining aspects of PR's style is that he does armour in old school BB style & doesn't try to make it like WFB (ala 3rd ed).

I'm coming to terms with the fact that these are frogs (rather than tall slim aliens), and tbh, they are pretty darn fantastic. Keep that armour as is!

ps. Anyone else think that they need a little more neck or slightly smaller heads?

actually no, I think the short neck/broad head look makes them look much less like frog faced humans and more like another race altogether (of amphibian origin clearly)

I might like to see longer legs though - ones that actually scream "Leap" just by looking. Might be foreshortening in the drawing to an extent, but the legs look shortish.

That said, I'll be buying these irrespective. PR could sculpt piles of troll crap and I would probably back them on Kickstarter.
