New Slann miniatures project?
UPDATE:
This project is now LIVE and can be backed at https://igg.me/at/jbonefrogmen
...
Hello all! Quick poll question to test the waters on a venture I am seriously considering kicking off in the next few months.
I have been looking to poke my nose into the world of miniatures for some time now and have had some ideas for a really nice Slann team. As there are not many Slann miniatures on the market at the moment I wondered if I could gauge people's interest here?
Are there not many Slann players as there aren't many miniatures options out there or are there not many Slann teams because people don't want to play them?
I have spoken to my favourite sculptor, Pedro Ramos regarding this and he is keen to get on board and make this a reality. I am just trying to see how viable this is as a project.
Thanks for any feedback guys.

I am super interested in this. I don't like any of the existing Slann teams and Pedro Ramos is fantastic. Makes sense. Good luck!

New Slann miniatures project?
Got to make them different to what's already on the market. Use this image as your basis for the models and you could have something:

I believe Impact did a great job basing their Calasian team on the 2nd edition Slann team. They are my favorite Slann team.

Re: New Slann miniatures project?
Everything I ever saw sculpted by PR was fantastic.
Every Slann team I saw I didn't like.
Mighty be the solution to my missing Slann team!
But, to be honest, I'd have to see some sketches and greens to make up my mind if I'm interested or not.

I voted no, I have a Slann team I'm happy with but a better one could have me rethink

Always interested in new teams, although that's no guarantee I'll be able to pick it up. I've got at least three teams on my 'To-Buy' list.
That said, I've picked up most of Pedro's recent teams. He also sculpted a lovely Tournament Mini for me recently and he's an absolute gent to work with.

Re: New Slann miniatures project?
I voted c.
There are already 3 good teams (Gaspez, Rolljordan, Mano di porco) + some good theme variations that could work from Impact (Calasans, etc). I still have to complete my collection of teams so I'm partially interested on Slanns, but I would prefer to see a vampire team, only 2 available and they are not the right size for me.

Re: New Slann miniatures project?
I would be interested as long as the minis are 28mm, not closer to 32mm.

Re: New Slann miniatures project?
The plan is to keep the scale closer to 28mm... I, like some other people, am not a massive fan of the larger miniatures. Mainly because I like to be able to mix miniatures with other manufacturers etc. and this tends to be easier when you stick closer to 28mm.

Re: New Slann miniatures project?
is there a specific theme or look you have in mind? While there are obviously a few teams about its goes without saying that you need to differentiate. Thats my key to any purchase something independent, whether it offers something different

Re: New Slann miniatures project?
I voted no because I really like the Greendog Figurines slann team, so no need for another slann team for me:

Re: New Slann miniatures project?
Yes, I'd be interested, but
1) Pedro Ramos needs to sculpt in the correct scale - 32mm heroic is not correct for BB, STOP THE SCALE CREEP!!
2) Team cost (assuming 16 players) should not exceed $90 for metal or $75 for resin
3) Hard to completely commit without seeing concept art - your idea of cool may not be the same as mine
in all truth though, I would suggest you consider a 3d printer design (like RNestudios) rather than old school sculpting.. faster and cheaper in my experience. Not that I know ANYTHING about the mini industry..
