Out of interest, what happens if there's an odd number of teams?

Then you have a dummy team who always loses by the minimal margin and 6 teams (one per round) get a bye and a marginal win which would I suspect be the logical approach unless of course we have Pirates but obviously it would be up to the big man McPippy.Merrick wrote:Out of interest, what happens if there's an odd number of teams?
PS I would like to state now that Scotland is laying claim to the Geordieland and we consider Geordies to be eligible to play for the junior Scottish teams.

What ARBBL did for one of the Pick'n'Mixes (I think) was have the last three teams play each other, so for this it would look something like this, if you get the same people at the bottom you have to pair the match-ups to avoid previous opponants which is where the Swiss-Swiss starts to breakdown. Obviously Pirates avoid these complicationsMerrick wrote:Out of interest, what happens if there's an odd number of teams?

Team A 1 vs Team B 1
Team C 1 vs Team A 2
Team B 2 vs Team C 2
Team C 3 vs Team B 3
Team A 3 vs Team C 4
Team B 4 vs Team A 4
Edit: pairing example was wrong

Yeah that's right, there'd be a split tie between the bottom 3 teams.
