Re: Show Us Yer Teams!
I feel sort of embarrassed to post this after TaketheSkull's Goblin team, but here's my skaven the Nuffle Institute of Mousy Howitzers.

My humans, the Orc Bay Packers and Teamsters Local 2

My orcs, the Thunder Mountain Manglers

And finally, my Norse, the Icehelm Beer Drinking Team

My next project is the resin Amazon team from Impact! that just arrived in the mail this afternoon.

I should point you to the history of the swastika... look up boy scouts, finnish air force and most importantly Hinduism
I could point you to the meaning of swastika (look up Sanskrit)
I would however suggest the western world will always assume this symbol is being used in its HakenKreuz context
Admittedly this isn't helped by the background colours

No Celtic cross's either. The German and Austrian postwar criminal code makes the public showing of the Hakenkreuz (the swastika), the sigrune, the Celtic cross (specifically the variations used by the White-Power-Activists), the wolfsangel, the odal rune and the SS skull illegal, except for scholarly reasons (and - in the case of the odal rune - as the insignia of the rank of sergeant major, Hauptfeldwebel,[82] in the modern German Bundeswehr). It is also censored from the reprints of 1930s railway timetables published by the Reichsbahn. The eagle remains, but appears to be holding a solid black circle between its talons. The swastikas on Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain temples are exempt, as religious symbols cannot be banned in Germany.

My house has a bunch of swastica's in it as my wife is a Hindu. I am assuming you mean National socialist swastika as oppose to that used by others - probably a fair thing to say given the use of red, white and black being a copy of the below.

I had to look up a few of those (yes, I am probably now listed as a prophet of hate on some internet security list) and I certainly didn't realise that the celtic cross was used for white power.Chris wrote:No Celtic cross's either. Surely it is better to allow those symbols and educate people on the origins thereby changing the first impression on seeing a symbol. Admittedly it is probably the reproduction of the symbols within a certain colour scheme that the post war criminal code seeks to ban, but still, as Maverick mentioned earlier, the majority of people make an instant connection upon seeing a swastika and I suppose I would like to see more done to take away those negative impressions. At least Harry Potter tried to make the Sig-Rune more popular

Yes I was a bit miffed at the Celtic cross, that is my old mans gravestone. Still I imagine a lot of Hindu's, Buddhists and Jains feel similar as although they are allowed to use swastika you will get a lot of comments about it.

It's fair to defend the use of the swastika in its traditional form as a religious / cultural symbol but in the reversed format in a white circle on a red square? Yeah... Not so much. That's just awful.

Re: Show Us Yer Teams!
The reversed thing is a bit of a myth (according to my learn'ed wife). Hindus at least use it interchangeably. The black icon on a white field with a red surround? Well, that is not so common...
