Re: Sukubus Team
Darkson, Indiegogo takes cash at the time of pledging and returns it at the end of the campaign if not funded.
So no surprises at the end of a campaign. I prefer that to the Kickstarter way because I'd be forever overdrawn.

Cool, that works for me. I also like that better than KS (though I prefer KS to flexible funding on Indiegogo).
Will pledge tomorrow.

Re: Sukubus Team
Okay, just for clarity because being light hearted doesn't wash with everyone...
That suits me but that's an aside.
At other venues the rules differ, but are always governed first and foremost by the wishes of the venue itself.
When allowing under 18's and/or vulnerable adults at events I have always been very careful to consider legalities and the duty of care. This comes from having worked alongside child protection officers in regards to such things and knowing what is/is not acceptable. The miniatures some may bring is, I hate to have to tell you, the least of my concerns.
I'm not dismissing your opinion, just saying that you can't always have it your way. In the case of age restrictions you really don't always get a choice.
Guide dogs, however, are fine to go anywhere. Go figure.
* When CACK started ten years ago youths between 16 and 18 were permitted with prior consent. Under 16's if accompanied by a guardian. Both were special cases and lessons have been learnt:
This was ended when we learnt that several of our 16 year old members were being dropped off at the door by parents, then heading into town to drink illegally at a place since closed down for that very reason.
They were then heading back and getting collected from our venue at the end of the night.
We learnt of this when our venue was reported for serving underage, something we were only able to defend thanks to our rigorous record keeping proving that those minors had not been at the venue on those dates and when further investigation by the police revealed where they had been going,.
Their memberships were revoked because they were barred from the venue and we had no choice in the matter, in fact we had to abide as a club or lose a very good venue, and a case was pursued by the police regarding the place serving them, leading directly to its closure.
None of the above is in any way relevant to any of this discussion, but I tell of it so that you do not presume to tell me I am out of order when I say that your children are not permitted inside our venue during opening hours.
It is not a matter open to debate based on who does or does not like children, it is what it is and serves to show that some arguments are invalid next to others.
You could disallow certain people because you don't like their miniatures. I think that's ridiculous because I don't think we should exclude fellow gamers for having toys we don't like.
Your under 18 children can't play at CACK. Period. I can't help you. That ship has sailed thanks to the above.
Beyond all of that, I would choose to not play against kids; I don't like'em and know I'm not any good with 'em. But if I have to I'll do so with as much good grace and common courtesy as I can muster. I would hope that would be sufficient and would ask the same of any opponent who may object to my miniatures.
Thank you.
You don't like that, tough luck and here is why: At certain venues it can't be helped or avoided. CACK, as per the wishes of the venue* and to abide by the rules which restrict such private members clubs under law, doesn't allow under 18's. Our venue isn't the strictest in that regard (youth groups use certain rooms outside of opening hours and gave our groups special dispensation once, please read on) and certainly isn't alone.JT-Y's restrictions are more unreasonable - a player can bring a different set of miniatures but a 16 year old bloodbowler can't get into JT-Y's event no matter what.

I will say that GW obviously banned non GW miniatures from some of their tournaments and the reaction was well muted, people just took other miniatures. Tournaments and closed leagues can do this and as the post above asserts sometimes have to do this. Personal feelings about the figures aside if a decision is made, then work around it or don't attend

On a relevant point, and going back to the tails...
I'm guessing they'll be separate castings looking at the angles. Nice and easy to affix to the mini in resin because superglue sinks into the resin and forms a superb bond.
Also easy to reposition; if you drop resin into nearly boiling water it softens up enough to reshape it, so anyone worried about breakable tails could reposition them so that they fit more snugly against the models and/or can be glued at more than one contact point.
Another option is flexible resin, which won't break ever:

Re: Sukubus Team
I'm one of the organisers who said they would not allow these models at my tournament,
I'm not getting into a slagging match with anyone, but just to clarify:
JT-Y I've spoken to you and Ruthy at tournaments, your both nice people, I'd like to think we could continue our chats, I don't consider myself elitist ( would an elitist say that tho'
) I have no issues with either of you.
I run Crumb-Bowl, a 1 day tournament which meets all the requirements to be NAF sanctioned, with my decision to exclude these models I believe it still will, however, I have children attending (7-8 last year) including Sanns0638 and Hudsons and think these models are inappropriate in the context of the game we play. If I held Crumb-Bowl in a pub or club I wouldn't have issue with the models, I myself own the rolljordon female barbarian team ( which are all topless, and BTW, a sod to put together) I just wouldn't use them at Crumb...it's my choice, to be blunt, it's " my house, my toys"
On a personal I think the sculpts are overtly sexual, my opinion after 27 years in the British military I'm obviously a prude!! Also they don't seem that practical, however there are several other teams that the second point could be levelled at.....
When I get around to organising next years Crumb I'll add a paragraph to the rulespack so there can be no misunderstanding, if it hurts the attendance I'll live with that....
I wish the sculptors every success with their venture, they are obviously talented people, maybe they'll do a dwarf team I actually like enough to buy, god knows I've waited long enough....

I've just heard the word 'moodle' used in a sentence without any prior warning and no one has picked up on a German horse eating lit cigarettes with every sign of enjoyment.
I don't care anymore.

Is the team really that sexual or is it just one miniature that people have an issue with?
