I don't know where all you guys keep coming from. Obviously I believe it when you say that Dwarfs etc are doing well, but since 1st ed I have only ever known Elves, rat scum or Undead do consistently well. These latter are the only hard team to be always competing. Its the AG of 4 that does it. Chaos I can see if they get lucky on the doubles, but Dwarves, surely they are too fat to play properly!

Yes but by the time Dawarves have blubbered their way up close enough to throw a TD its gone half time. Stick some blocks/dodges in their way and they take too long to get around them.

Dwarfs take some getting used to but it is possible to win with them. Possibly throwing is not the way forward though.

The dwarf game is stopping the other team's from scoring. (The teams you listed in fact!)

For a dwarf team to win consistently you need to play a defensive game. You stop the opposition from scoring and then score late and run the clock out. Some people just aren't suited to this type of game but I get just as much thrill (maybe more) holding an elf team to no score as I do in scoring a TD.

I have had one successful year with Dwarves, and they hard to play! I think you have to love them and be prepared for a long haul, but I do wish them well. My main WHFB army was Dwarves.

The Blood Bowl Dwarfs play just like the WHFB dwarfs.

You gotta let the enemy come to you. Your big guns (troll slayers) loosen up the opponent's drive so that your infantry (long beards) can pop the ball loose for the spec forces (blitzers)

The problem I found with the pot bellies was that for a 'hard' team there were harder ones out there, so they were not the best at running and didn't compete too well with the Elven boys. In the end, under 3rd Ed I plonked for a bazooka and threw a few few players up there and it worked quite well untill an Orc team murdered me over a couple of seasons. I still like them though, but DE's suit my style of play. They were great fun in WHRB, just letting the other army crash up against a solid wall.

My Dwarfs have experienced the same problem, but only against orcs.
I hate orcs.
