To the masters or greens, not the moulds (well, technically, "final" miniatures would do too, for those not caring about detail loss). And the owner of the rights should agree, that would be step 0.robsoma wrote:he would need access to the moulds to be able to get plastic casts

Yeah we could not do that for anyone unless they had come to us and worked out some type of licensing arrangement for us to do it. Without that licensing .. that practice is called recasting and is a major cardinal sin of the industry (and rightfully so).huff wrote:Would you be able to do other minatures/teams not just made by Impact! or would that be some type of infringement/just not gentlemen like?

Re: Impact! announces $35 plastic team sets
Not sure if we'll be able to do that. All the packs being offered are because they come from the same mould. The Apes are being moulded by team composition ... so I doubt I'll be able to do that ... but I'll see if we can figure out the costs at all for that.robsoma wrote:Tom question about the apes going plastic... would these be available in 'boosters' the same as the sarcos? For instance 4 gorilas, 4 chimps ect?

Re: Impact! announces $35 plastic team sets
Is it too late for me to petition you to do a 4 Gorilla, 8 Chimp, 2 Orangutan option? Perhaps with the Silverback and 2 Gibbons to replace Option 5?
In our local league we're playing a custom roster that maxes out on 4 gorillas and realistically needs 8-12 chimp models (runners and linemen both - they're so brittle!), so uber keen for this, or at least the option to pick up extra chimp linemen (i'd be picking up an extra eight, in all likelihood!).
(Anyone who wants to know more about the custom Ape roster should check this link: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=29821&start=632 - I don't want to hijack the thread here!)
Back on topic, have shared this news in the league and we'll be ordering together as soon as plastic apes hit the store!
Cheers
S
EDIT: Of course, where that Apes roster is concerned, the dream scenario would be:
4 gorilla (2 each of the 2 trousered gorilla models)
2 of the running chimp
8 of the wavy arm chimp
1 silverback
2 thrower

I'm with Shteve0 on this. I am going to buy an Ape team for the NZCL roster. If Impact makes that easy for me, I will be a happy man.Shteve0 wrote:Is it too late for me to petition you to do a 4 Gorilla, 8 Chimp, 2 Orangutan option? Perhaps with the Silverback and 2 Gibbons to replace Option 5?

Impact! did reach out over the last two weeks to two other FF companies and ask for licensing arrangements to cast up one to two of their full teams in plastic. One company already refused the offer. The second company told us they would get back to us in March with an answer.theghr wrote:Why dont you come to them?Still gets into the action so i see why not?

This is a great idea. I really want a chaos or chaos pact with lots of mutation options. And big guys that weight like a regullar metal fig.

Re: Impact! announces $35 plastic team sets
We are currently having moulded the following team to be in plastic at $35 each.lithophile wrote:I'm with Shteve0 on this. I am going to buy an Ape team for the NZCL roster. 4 gorillas
2 running chimps
8 wavy arm chimps
1 silverback
2 throwers
1) Apes of Wrath Elfball team (14 figures (Siringit or Orc team rules), 2 Armoured Gorilla Blocker, 2 Armoured Gorilla Blitzer, 3 Chimpanzee Midfielders, 2 Chimpanzee Runner, 2 Gibbon, 1 Orangutan, 1 Silverback & 1 Gorilla Centaur)
After we get those set up ... Chris and I talked and we promise to work to make a new mould with the above team in it or to create an expansion pack that would be added to the Elfball team (an extra 5 wavy arm chimps and 1 Orang). We have options to do this. So we'll see what we need to do. We also are looking at making a pack of 2 extra Gorrillas, 1 wavy arm Chimp, 2 runner Chimp and 2 Gorilla Centaurs to make a 2nd Apes Fantasy team. We'll check out both these extra packs right after getting these moulds finished and for sale.

Re: Impact! announces $35 plastic team sets
*sniff* - I love you guys.
So, Sarcos and Apes are go for me. I'm chuffed to bits! This news could only get better if Impact suddenly got hold of licensing for the Greebo Volmarians (literally never going to happen) and the Rolljordan frogs (it couldn't... could it?)

I'd love to see the Greebo Horned Frog team in plastic, so here's hoping it someday happens.

Re: Impact! announces $35 plastic team sets
Me too. I've hemmed and hawed about getting them for some time (because I'm a cheapskate and prefer to do my own sculpting/converting anyway), but a plastic team that is a fraction of the price of metal AND allows me to put money into Galak's pocket? Sign me up!RogueThirteen wrote:GalakStarscraper wrote:Impact! did reach out over the last two weeks to two other FF companies and ask for licensing arrangements to cast up one to two of their full teams in plastic.
