+1
I like the look of the beastmen so far but just want to see more before committing.

The thing about these campaigns is that if I miss out on them, I am going to have a very hard time buying that product in the future. Instead of just feeling like I missed a sale, it feels like I'm paying a premium. Maybe that's just me, though, and I'm sure the benefit in preselling a ton of teams outweighs the few sales that might be lost.
Why would you have trouble buying them later? Willy will no doubt be selling them through his webstore as he does for all his other gear.
Personally I'm very impressed.by what Ive seen so far. Id like to see one green to feel confident those excellent 3D models will translate faithfully, but beyond that i have faith that the CW and Mino will match the promise of the Beastmen.
Personally I dont think $100 is unreasonable for 13 unique sculpts, one of them a BG, particularly when shipping is included.

Speaking of Euc Bowl, I've got some stuff from this years event available for sale!
Axiom wasn't saying they'd be difficult to buy, but that he'd find them hard to buy after the offer: "if you can sell them at X why am I having to pay Y?"
Not saying I share that view, but I can understand it.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
I am keeping a watch but really Christmas is coming and My discretionary spend will be going that way. I need to see more before I can crack open the vault.

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.
Ah right, I really didn't get that from my first read of his comment but you're right that does make sense now I look at it again.
I don't agree with the sentiment though. The point of something like this is to get help obtaining funding for the production of something expensive. It costs a hell of a lot to fund even a single miniature, forget about a full team.
So if people are willing to put money up-front and help you reach that goal, and end up buying the product for less than RRP as a result, I'd call that a very well deserved discount. Often with these things there is no actual profit built in, it's all designed to cover costs with the eventual profits coming from sales after the product is released. Anyone who is buying the product later is only able to do so because of those people who took the chance and helped fund the product in the first place.
Take Impact's recent Chibi Miniatures for example, I gather from what Tom said that Impact basically made $0 on that despite it's huge success, because it's all gone to costs. What they do gain is a set of products, fully paid for, that they can then sell on their store later for profit. Is it wrong for Impact not to offer the same bundled deals in their store that were available via the Kickstarter? Hell no! Those were a bonus and an incentive for people who got behind the project and got it off the ground.

This is correct ... just to confirm. 6 figure ending number and its is going to 1 artist, 4 different sculptors and the mould maker/caster. We did allow a small amount for emergencies but we'd already had to use $4000 of that emergency fund for unexpected costs that have come up in the last 2 weeks so even small reserve amount is pretty much already gone.
And yes ... they are offered at a discount to help us make sure the figures happen and are made. And as Virral said ... we have no profit on them when that happens. When they go in the store ... the price goes up because at that point ... you kinda hope to make some money on them so you can pay the mortgage and feed the kids.
Which is just my way of saying ... Virral has the summary of how these projects normally works spot on.

Yep, same with the Aussie Block Dice. I have a safety net but worked pretty close to the wire. I hope to make a bit of money in the future selling extra sets, but I wont make any real money to speak of from the campaign.
I wouldnt have ended up with 9 colours or matching D6 without the campaign and the people who got behind it. If I had self funded it would have been three colours, no D6 or other bonuses.

crowfunding is what about ... funding, not making money; it's not a preorder, it's about get a rare loan.
so u must use the benefit in thanking people who help u, you will make money in future with the proyect finished
in this case, with willy u can get a discount on the retail price about a 10%, another willy miniature, cos if willy get the 10k goal there a free miniature with level 6 + (so it isnt a 13 figures team, it is a 14 figures team) + free shipping not only to usa or spain, everywhere
The beastmen look awesome. If the chaos warriors are as good then I'll be chuffed. I don't need another chaos team but I've been looking for an excuse to pick up something by that sculptor for a while. I knew there was a reason the beastmen were familiar.
