Nice one :) The team look ace. Look forward to seeing them. Ive tried to play dwarves on the Cyanide game but I don't get them unfortunately.

No other pics im afraid, just the unpainted version on the main blog

The gears were an important part for me, it needs to look like it would work in real life! Shame I used £1 for 4 cheap superglues from the poundshop to stick the cogs as they're a bit wonky, great at sticking skin but not so good for anything else...

Based and ready for the pitch!

I still need to decide how I am doing numbering, (bases or shoulders) but I'm done for now!

Boom! They look great! the uniformed beard look really adds to the overall team.

Id do the numbers on the shoulders

I'd say number both. The shoulders for the 'realistic' sports team approach, but the bases for the actual playing and id side of things. They look good - I'm not a massive fan of the sculpts personally, but they are hugely improved with your painting! Have you thought about trying to add on sponsorship just to give an extra challenge and level of detail (I just started to do this myself with mixed results!)

@ velvet mark - Thanks much! I thought about changing beard colors, but kept all the beards virtually the same color. I liked the cohesive look, too.

@ barnacle111 I'm glad you like them. I think I will put the numbers on bases for now, and try for shoulders after I've logged a bit more brush time. Painting additional details (of any kind) right now is beyond what I am willing to paint. I am forcing myself to not even do touch ups until I've played a few games! The idea of sponsors is interesting. It does sound cool, and I'd love to see pics!

I met my New Years goal - model / paint a playable team to a level I am proud to have them take the pitch!

Next up... An orc team kit bash for my brother in law.

Hope you never roll more than a one and all your block dice are skulls. BAH

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

Looking good ChenZhen!
I was not particularly fan of the colours when you showed the first mini... but the complete team looks very nice! Cohesive beards also work well even though again, that would not have been the way i would have done it... (maybe I'm just wrong and should rethink this when I get around painting my dwarfs...in 2047... I'm not playing them anyway, Heff  )

Early stages of a "tricycle of doom" for the team.

Edited for spelling (and realized that "doom-trike" is a better name).

Paint it yellow and call it a cheese roller. Looks good btw you really should use your talents for good not evil.

It's funny. Living in Minnesota, the Vikings (the local football team) have a rivalry with the Packers from Wisconsin. They are called the cheese heads, so all I could think of was a trike with giant cheese wheels and the driver wearing a cheese head hat!
clay-matthews-and-nfl-green-bay-packers-foam-cheesehead-hat-profile.jpg
So I probably shouldn't tell you about the dwarf star players I have started converting up? :orc:

Rest assured, other teams will follow. Last I checked, just using minis I have in my attic, I can make the following teams - orc, human, chaos, nurgle, necro, undead, and Norse. I also just got a chaos dwarf team in the mail (full 16 roster with 2 bulls, mino, and minis to spare!)... So I have quite a bit of work to do... This also means that I have quite a few extra minis I need to clear out!

Looking at these pictures, I think the exhaust pipes are too long.
