I like the Lara Croft style holsters for the stakes, the pose doesn't seem that close to the Granny figure on close examination which combined with the change in look.

I don't see an issue with the "homage" sculpts. GW isn't updating them, so if another company wants to take the risk to produce them, more power to them.

just to clarify, I have zero issue with new star player minis, nor do I have any issue with a mini being inspired by another mini...

but shouldn't a new star player mini actually bring something "new" other than scale creep?

so, for instance, the chainsaw mini and the vampire are both EXCELLENT minis - look great, dynamic poses, well sculpted, simply great additions to the FF mini world.. good stuff..

but what do the elf ponce or Sara offer that isn't already there in a verysimilar format??

I don't often use star players - last league I was in was 6 years ago using LRB3 rules - but I would want a star player mini to be doing the thing they are famous for, right? Given Zara is almost certainly a GW piss-take of Buffy, why not have her holding a stake in one had and a crucifix or bottle of holy water in the other? she's a female van Helsing, right? - so have fun with that.. why give her a ball at all when you could have posed her about to attack the really nice vampire mini that you also just produced.. wouldn't they make an awesome pair? or even a diorama?

overall the quality of the Willy minis is exceptional, it's just the thought process that confuses me a little. with so much sculpting talent available, why re-do the already tried and tested..

Hi all , is hard for me to speak my mind .

For me my idea "Sara" = Lara Croft + stakes + armour blood bowl ... but now everyone remembers original Zara (only this foro) .

Willy-miniature made star players , ok ? If I want made "troll" , I production troll very different , but If I want made "bolgrot" I need miniature remake , similar , copy , homage etc ... old miniature .

Want you "woman star player" very diferent ? ok , you can buy Kalee .
Want you "morgan" very diferent ? ok , you can buy ogre franarcilla .
But If you want new miniature NO diferent "ogre star player" , If you want everybody see your star player ogre and everybody think Morgan !! (0 problem with play , other coach can see ogre "normal" and ogre "star player" ) you can buy ogre Willy-miniatures .
This photo (ogre) is very bad only see head and spike , now 90% old morgan , but I think really only 50% old miniature .

Next miniature femenine "Roxy with elf star player" , I want miniature static , very sexy and short hair ... but I do not want to look like Kalee , I think long hair is good idea .

I understand the homeage to existing models to fit in with the scale creep.But it seems to me that making a existing star player would have lower sales.On the other hand making Stars that do not have a offical would boost sales.That is just my 2 cents....

I think the Sara model is great. There are strong similarities to the GW one, but I think Willys is a bit better. I will definitely buy one!

... and enjoyed it. Its one of the best GW-Starplayer. IMO.

I agree, the new one is maybe quite similiar, but next time i order Willy-Minis again,
i will order this one, too, as the mini looks nice to paint.

Those are 25mm bases at least, sculptor is Franarcilla. 35 mm to the eyes... with bent back and knees. ST5 without any problem.
