more kindness for our tourney!
glowworm, someone i've had no contact with in all my years here in tff, has pm'ed me and has offered some dice for a prize at the grt togeather in honour of mike kriger.
when i emailed a many of the bb/ff makers with a request for sponsorship, and made notice of the event here, i never thought i'd get the response i did. take a look at the list of people who wanted, in any way, to help with prizes for the winners and other catagorys(sportsman, best painted, most tds, kills/injuries, etc). it shows people still care.
so come on up in the hills! you may win the glowworm award
and a big thank you to forcecommander, who pm'ed me and offered to jive a prize for our event. looks like alot of coaches will be going home with something! thank you force! thank you.
Hello! This has been brought to my attention by Glowworm, a good friend of mine. And would to give a little something. I have some Exiles Bowl dice left fro, first tourny in 2009 and would like to send them over for you to give away to some players.
Now here at the Exiles we revel in CAS's and mindless violence, so these dice should only be given to the those players that fit the ethos
Man I so would like to come
$315 for a plane ticket
then I would be a burdened to you
Airport pickup/dropoff
Couch/Bed to crash on (with shower etc)
I would pay my fair share for food and adult beverages of course
Halloween weekend so my obligations to my kids school would be covered
I can rase $400 on ebay by the end of the Month (hell end of next week if I am lucky)
The stopage is the wife.....
(no I have already gone to Special 'K' Cup, and Spike, and I spent 2 weeks at my dads helping him build stuff, I have been married 13 years so sex would get me no where) and Halloween weekend to boot
let me see what I can do, I am running at like 10% right now
as far as the airport pick up goes, be advised i have no limo, so my crv would have to do also, if you come, its mostly newbies, so don't expect "top tier" play and alot of "whats that rule for throw ins?" or "what does catch skill do?". and my favorite from last year "wow! thats a 4 die block!".
its all good! i like the new players excitement!
recieved some nice dice and tourney coins today from jamie. thanks, buddy. i will try to get some of these guys down to the philly game. thanks!! lots for happy coaches this year for sure!
its the night before our tourney in honour of my cousin and our friend, mike kriger. me and the wife are putting togeather the prize packages. as of today, we have 18 coaches signed up. thats a great turnout, and i'm happy with it, considering where i live(2 feet from hell. no, really! theres a 600+ foot abandoned mine right outside of town. when i break down and kill my mother in law, i will throw the body down there)
i want to thank, with all my heart, the sponsors. they came through where others just did'nt. gaspez arts, for the full frog team and the certificats redemable for figures. rolljodan, for the great miniatures. jonnyp, for the gift package. daloonieshaman for the gift package. lunchmoney, forcecommander and glowworn, for the great dice!
thanks guys! you stepped in where others did'nt even reply to my emails. you will be mentioned when the prizes are given out. thank you.
Team Chaos dice will be sent to you along with some rather nice Team Wales dice (courtesy of my good friend Hawca) as soon as i get them (Chaos dice). The Chaos dice should of course be forwarded to the 4th place finisher (the Glowworm spot) the Welsh Dice...? you decide who gets them, there will be 2 pairs (white & green)
Enjoy your weekend, post some results and highlights and have fun!!
glowworm, thank you friend. and your name is now and always gonna be associated with the "most violence inflicted in one game award"! its for the coach who causes the most deaths/injuries in one game. another award will be called "west coast crazy", for the craziest play(successfully pulled off) of the event. i'll list everything, and the winners, after the event. 18 playerss, guys, and 7 "i'll be theres(did'nt pre pay their $5 entry fee). not bad for being up in the hills of pa., huh?
and to all you members from pa.(i know your out there) who did'nt want to come, you missed out...

The "most violence award" should be the Exciles dice, those boys (Lunchmoney and his "crew") love the sound of breaking bones....
"Craziest play" Hawca's Welsh dice, as there are 2 sets (1 set per player, Crazy player for the attempt, Opponent for being a victim of craziness!!)
Team Chaos dice, 4th place will ever be associated in some areas of the UK (Poole, Dorest. Bristol & Newport, Wales) with the "Glowworm Award" it traveling across the pond would be great!!
well, its over! i could'nt post after the event, because, as any pa. resident will know, we had a snow storm and when i got home, about 1 hour later, the power went out. and its 3pm on the dot, on sunday, and the power just came back on. it was snowing while the tourney was going on, but everything turned out fine.
we had an amazing 23 coaches show up. 18 pre paid, and we had a bunch of "maybes". so 23 is pretty darn good. i really thing, if some members from tff join in, and with more advertisment, we could easily get 30 coaches.
heres the winners:
scott beshnick, 1st place. team dwarfs. scott recieved the full frog team from GASPEZ ARTS
2nd place went to matt bucold. team orcs. matt won a high elf team from my collection**
3rd place winner was rich sandt. team, pro elf. rich took home a rolljordan troll
the glowworm award(most violence in 1 game) kyle mcdevitt. team, ogre
most casulties over all went to joe black. team, human
most touch downs was won by ron sandt. team, wood elfs
west coast crazy award(craziest stunt pulled of during a game) john kimble. team, underworld
we had a tie for best painted. ed ring's skaven team, "the lebonon plague" amazed everyone with a nice grey overall paint job. the real amazinf thing was he painted his rats in OILS! thats right! oils! i will get pictures up. they look great!
tied with mr. ring, and no less amazing, was frank ziggafuss' lizardman team. these lizards were painted a slimey teal. again, a very nice paint job.
the players award, for the nicest person to play against, went to kathy kelly. she has been playing our game with her boyfriend(shawn lieclighter) over the last few months, and shes getting darn good. in fact her amazon team was just 3 td's away from the most td's award. and her 'zons were painted nice, too. when i asked her if she would be back next year, she said "hell yes!, but with a different team.". thats what i love to hear!
and finally the wooden spoon! this was for the least wins. no worries tho, bob wagner and his chaos dwarfs "hatebreed" still played hard. and tbh, bob tied 2 times witch did'nt help.
and since we were blessed with support by quite q few tff members, everyone left with something. be it a patch from west coast quake, or from jonnyp. or a set of dice from glowworm and forcecommander and the nutters from across the pond.
a few were given a note telling them a set of dice would be sent to them when i recieve them, as i had not recieved them, yet. but everyone was happy.
and everyone who meet mike could be heard, at different times during the day, telling stories about mike and his all night bb marethons. and how he loved the game and was a driving force in our league, "the two rivers league". witch mike, myself and bob limeberry started up in 1993. its been going strong ever since. mike was so much to his friends, and without getting weird, several members of our league advised him against applying for deploment to afganistan. he had 2 tours in iraq under his belt, and some of us had a feeling he was pushing his luck. we, as his friends, are very sorry he did'nt come home to us.
