Re: WIP Slann Team (now with painted feather 05 Apr)
if you mix Enchanted Blue and Scorpion Green in different amounts you get Jade Green and Turquoise Blue.
I know that because I once painted 2 Fantasy units by Mixing the blue and the green, and could not reproduce it exactly. Until I bought the Jade and Turquoise and I was saved.

Re: WIP Slann Team (now with painted feather 05 Apr)
thx for clarifying, I thought my eyes were funny..
I'll be honest and say I don't mix colours very often - unless you are VERY specific about ratio of colours it gets very hard to paint a team with any uniformity. Even my Orcs have different shades of yellow across the team - same yellow paint, different colour basecoat though..

You live and learn! I'm not too worried about an absolute match on feather colour luckily, plus I use a little coaster for mixing my paint and I just roughly match the spots from the previous mixingPiousman wrote:if you mix Enchanted Blue and Scorpion Green in different amounts you get Jade Green and Turquoise Blue.

An extremely minor update - this chap arrived this morning - I intend to use him as a Cheerleader:

Really Love these original Slann miniatures. Did you pick em all up on ebay?

The latest chap was from ebay, but the others all came from a trade, which is just as well as I got them relatively cheaply.PlanetTJ wrote:Really Love these original Slann miniatures. Did you pick em all up on ebay?

I cannot imagine Slann of Feebay would go cheaply. Most nothing goes cheaply nowadays.

Re: WIP Slann Team (now with painted feather 05 Apr)
I've just got back from spending several nights in a hotel in Scotland as I've been away with work. Luckily I had the foresight to pack my Slann and my paints, and have managed to finish the painting on 8/11ths of the team (if you exclude basing and sorting out those humans under the Catchers!).
Anyway, some pics:

I decided to give the two Blitzers a natty blue jump suit. The chap on the left has got some kick-ass sandals, and the guy on the right has some bang on trend stripes on his legs (which handily you can't see in the pic). The suits should make it pretty clear to any opponent that these guys are my Blitzers.

Here are the two Catchers. It was a real pig to paint the guy on the left as my converting of his arms got in the way of painting pretty much everything to the front of the figure!

Finally 4 of the Linemen. I think I need to make the fur ruff round the guy second from left green, but otherwise I'm happy with these guys
Just 3 more Linemen to go and I've got a painted team ready for basing. The Krox is also ready for a splash of paint when I get round to him.

Dont know if you had anything in mind already for the humans the frogs are leaping over or if youve already done them but..
I was thinking you could paint them up to look like a team from your league (provided you have any humans inyour league) just so you can rub it in when you play that guy haha

When I did that original conversion, the general consensus was that black was less intrusive when you weren't playing against a nemesis opponent.

Yeah thats fair enough, i could see how it would get confusing with all these players painted the same as the other team running around, even if there was a frog on their head haha. I like the look of that wood elf too. Kepp up the good work!

Re: WIP Slann Team (now with 8 painted players! 14 Apr)
Hooray! One completely painted team (apart from numbers, pitch markings and the Kroxigor...but you're not going to worry about that right?!).
Team Shot:

Blitzers:

Big Linemen:

Little Linemen:

Catchers:

Overall I'm pretty pleased with how these guys turned out. I may need to revisit one or two of the colour selections on individual models with the spot blue / green / gold, but I like the overall look of the team, and the Catchers came out well
