well the checkerboard looks fine to me, but just fyi i think the point was a cincinatti bengals theme. the bengals are the worst team in the american football league, the NFL, so of course what better race to represent them than goblins?!
anyway, their scheme is black and orange, but the look is like a bengal tiger, the helmets are tiger striped and so on.
Here's a link to a site with their helmet design (as well as their stats this season if you're interested in seeing JUST HOW BAD they really are.)

A lot of "L's" in that score column, just like a gobbo team!

Well my 4 gobbos just arrived today. I'll paint up all 4 of them like "Bungles" and send in my best one...er actually I'll paint 3 and my friend Steve will paint 1, and we'll each send one in.

Just to have it in this thread as well, here's Milos description from the original thread:
Here's a link to players wearing the Bengals outfits: http://proshop.bengals.com/istar.asp?a= ... 26pos%3D80
I think the best representation of the Bengals scheme would be:
Helmets: Orange with Black Stripes
Shoulderpads / UpperBody: Black with White Letters and Orange Accents
Pants / Loincloths: White with Orange Stripes
Does that sound right to everyone?
Also, how about a team name: The Greenskinatti Bungles?

Well, the stripes aren't great, the highlights are a bit heavy handed (though they look fine at playing distance) and I'm not even going to attempt to pick out all the studs on his shirt in metals (my brushes are too knackered and a couple of them would be too damn fiddly, so better with none picked out), and the base is only getting flocked...but my guy is done. Just sat down this evening and got through it pretty quick. Its amazing how fast you can paint if you put your mind to it and don't expect Eavy metal finishes.
So: Akkin Coff, Greenskinnatti Bungholes no.13 is pretty much ready to take to the astrogranite.
Pics hopefully tommorrow. Depends on my wife getting at the Digital camera at her work.

Shouldn't we agree on a way to finish the bases? If everybody does it the way they always do, it will never get to look like a team. I'd like to use static grass, but I'm not sure that everybody are up to that.
Actually I suggest that we just leave them black. It's not the best solution I think, but it's a way to insure that they will all look identical.
