Oh God, I remember those times..... be careful what you wish for  :D

Yeah I know, but that is the Galak I remember. Full of Passion for a game he loves and wasn't afraid to show it. That is what earned him his seat on the BBRC. It was probably the only way they could get him to calm down.

Cheers Tom,

It was a pleasure working with you and butting heads with you over the course of LRB5 and I thank you for all your efforts to the community. But for now for you, it's time to sit back, relax and have some fun :)

Thanks for all the hard work you put in. LRB 5 and 6 are both great!

I hope this doesn't affect your relationship with Jervis and it is only a corporate laywer thing!

Again, thanks

Just another post to say thanks Tom for all your hard work. GW are fools to themselves at times but there are few companies that would allow someone to have say on rules at the same time as running a company that is in direct competition with them. But nice of them to wait until you had done all the work first though eh?

But as you say, LRB6 should be out, the BBRC is no more and then you can have some fun in the hurly burly of the crowd with the rest of us common people having a laugh and shouting our opinions out without a care in the world. Have a beer on us mate.

Complete irrelevance...but am I the only one who looks at atropabelladonna's avatar and has the first instinct that it is something other than the eye of Sauron?

Thank you, Galak, for all your hard work and enthusiasm. In my book you gain a permanent reroll.

And GW should be ashamed.

I have started and re-started this post several times.... I am at a loss of what to say.

The whole BB world seems to have been turned on it's ear - and it seems we have this woman who is the new acting head of legal at GW to thank.

Does she even know the games?

Has she ever played them?

Is she doing this as a means to make her mark? Ona bit of a power trip

Has she considered the implications of her actions (albeit within their legal rights?)

Seriously Tom, your contributions ot the hobby have been immense. There were times when I wish I coul dhave had the oppotrunities you have had, in pioneering the BB rulebooks, and taking the hobby to a new level, but there were certainly times when I was happy to not be you when all the hate was being flung around.

Love you or hate you, nobody can say that you have not been dedicated to your cause and have made immense efforts in the name of the hobby.

<bowing heads in respect> Thank you Tom. You are a legend.

Thanks Gallak for your effort and your job.

A few points:

1) A GAME DOESN'T BELONG TO HIS CREATOR, BUT TO THE PLAYERS.
Is up to the players to change the rules they want to play with.

2) As an ex-GW worker I regret their present ways and behaviour.

3) GW always thought BB was a bad game in therms of making profit, as kids with just twelve miniatures got thousands of hours of play. In my opininon they have always been wrong. Humans love to collect and 21 teams can be dead expensive. Simply BB's collecting speed is not as high as 40 K, but it stays longer in life time.

4) Keep casting cool miniatures!!! We will use them in our tournaments.

Let me just express my gratitude as well Tom. You're a stand up guy and if I can help you in any shape or form with Impact! do not hesitate to pm me either here or over there. I know I don't post much these days as my time is a serious premium, but I'm more than happy to spend some of my limited free time assisting you.

Seriously.

Galak,

Thank you for the immense contribution you've made to my life and that of countless others. Your stoicism and sanguine online demeanour in the face of such events is admirable indeed.

Enjoy your game.

I agree with the sentiment that this game is Mr. Tom Ander's.... GW scornfully didn't support it... Jervis Johnson lost direction with 4.0... and if not for Tom's backup, the rules files were gone!

Oh, Mr. Churchill... where have the island's successive generations gone wrong? No longer do your countrymen understand the sacrifices in the trenches and the value of their allies.... "Blood, sweat and tears" mean nothing next to the Sterling Pound....

And the ancestor's weep....

I won't post them (as right of this moment, I don't even know where I've got them saved!) because I promised years ago I wouldn't, but let me say, as a LRB4-perferer, who would happily turn back the clock to LRB4, what we got in LRB5 is because of Tom - JJ's version of LRB5 would have made most right-minded coaches stop playing the official rules in a minute, meaning we'd have gone back to the pre-LRB1 days of each group having their own house-rules.

And we only have the cards in the game because:
a) Tom backed me up over my badgering of JJ to get them in as an alternative to inducements, and
b) Tom took over the card testing and editting when the free-time I had when I took on the project evaporated. He didn't have to, and could easily have dropped the whole thing, but because he realised it was something a (minority) part of the BB community wanted, he carried on with them, in addition to the rest of LRB5.

Another big thanks to Tom for all the work on LRB5/6. I have seen the proposed lrb5 rules and they would have been a disaster, no doubt at all about that.
