Well, that can only be a good thing. Even better news to stick back and wait for the results.

Semantics can be very ambiguous. Maybe by opposite he meant he's sold his body

Re: LRB 6.0
As much as you guys don't want to hear it, this is an excruciatingly good post. In the end, GW holds all the relevant trademarks and copyrights for this game. It seems rather obvious to me that they're simply being more aggressive in protecting their IP, which I initially thought was due to the release of the game. However, it seems now like it's a combination of this and GW hiring on a new general counsel.Agamemnon2 wrote:Morally, I am completely against any notion that we should, as a community, willfully engage in what can only be construed as piracy. If BB cannot be kept alive by legal and above-board means, I say Blood Bowl doesn't deserve to survive.Wylder wrote:You'll notice I mentioned using free hosting and torrents. Sure those services can get issued C&D's, but I'm willing to be I can put up new copies on hosting services that can't be traced back to me a lot faster than GW can get them taken down. Then consider that there would be other people willing to do the same.
If GW aren't willing to host the rules then I am beyond caring whether we "keep them on our good side".
Whether we like it or not, Blood Bowl is still GW's game, and we have no say over what happens to it. If they want to destroy it, they can, and will.
Having said that, I add my thanks to the BBRC and Tom for their tireless and largely unsung efforts. All of you TBB'ers deserve thanks and praise as well, for adding all of those thoughts and data to the 6.0 effort. 6.0 is the definitive ruleset and is so much better and balanced than the prior versions, but we know that and perhaps take it for granted.

Re: LRB 6.0
Speaking purely hypothetically, as long as the rules are explained in one's own words and without recourse to other protected artwork, even a full explanation of a complete ruleset cannot be a breach of copyright, because everyone owns the copyright to his own words.plasmoid wrote:Why would anybody do that?
LRB5 would still be available for download.
A home-made list of house rules (the total of which would not exist in any GW document) could hardly be a problem. Could it?
