It is not that they don't care about tournaments, its just the rules are written for league play. Tournaments are basically houserules, so they take a back seat in a rules perspective.

P.S. this isn't my statement, I've seen Galak or Ian (can't remember) state it on these boards before.

I am very happy with the list of changes. 50k Chef was way too cheap so I am glad that has gone.

In fact most of the changes are so small I shall just right them on my LRB 5+ print and same some paper. :D

Thus making them feel great about including these into the game.
I think this is something that should be considered. We should build a list of GW models that could match all the Star players available in LRB6. No matter how old the miniatures are or does GW produce those at the moment. Probably some conversion is needed in most cases, but still.

Sure, anyone could do that, but that would be breaking their copyright in the worst way and as such anyone could not publish those rules in any way...

I know league play is important, but the fact that tournaments are given no consideration at all is beyond a joke.

They've nerfed Wood Elves, Undead & Dwarf so this can only make Amazons even better.

Khemri will not be used by anyone who has a serious ranking, and those top ranked will probably never be caught now.

I know we've got the Egg in there, but it just seems like there's been NO consideration whatsoever about tournaments, hence they don't care (or the majority of the 5 don't care)

as said already tournament use house rules already

couple of uk tournaments have implemented tiers in the rules to give "worse tournament" races more money/skills

so there isn't really much need to consider tournaments when they all use different rulesets in the first place surely

My opinion about tournament is that for now the format (110, 105 etc..) was a paliatif to the poor 3rd edition league system. It allowed the coach to keep having fun in the week end even if his team was crippled appart on the first round. But now the inducement system is lot more balanced, and it would be logical that all tournament use the full league ruleset, with inducements and starplayers.
but this will take lot of time because it is strongly inserted in the actual the way of playing.

the aussies have run tournaments like this for years

even doing that certain teams are stronger starting out than others, so I still see tournaments adpating some house rules

I still hold the stance that stat increases give a big boost and give an unfair advantage, would have less problem with them compared to being able to "buy" the stat increase

it would be entirely possible for someone to win a tournament by getting 2 lucky skills rolls after the first game this way, this I'm not a fan of

this is another discussion entirely though for the tournament discussion board, or the NAF site ;]

I'd like to play in a tournament played this way. Maybe ban +1AG and ST, or double their price (80K/100K) so whoever faces them gets something back.
