And GW (or any of the other big miniature companies) is different how?

It's different in the context of rights and quality.

Selling inferior fakes, while pretending it's the real thing for profit is very much different than selling the real thing for profit.

It might not be evil as in sodomizing baby bunnies, but it is deceitful to anyone looking for those mini's. Compared to GW ripping us off it IS very very evil IMHO.
Agreed.

I have an absolutely huge collection of 2ed minis. I still don't think this guy is evil (in fact, I think I may have bought some 2ed Chaos Dwarfs off him a while back to try and complete my collection).

Of course he sells things for profit. He doesn't do it for puppies.

I think I also addressed the issue of false advertising and low quality.

But lets face it; Regenerist skin cream lies to all of us. And I'm pretty sure they only sell things because they turn a profit.

I certainly don't think this is "evil".

But I do think it is wrong.

And that he should be punished for it, or at least stopped from doing it any more.

Doesn't sound like a profitable business model to me.

I would not be happy if I bought a Rolex on ebay just to found out is a cheap fake.

If someone states to sell the real stuff and then send you fake it is a ripp off that should be stopped.

Might be missing something, but he doesn't state anywhere it's the real thing OR OOP.

I find stating
chaos dwarf team old style rare
enough to state that you are selling genuine GW 2nd ed chaos dwarf bloodbowl mini's.

Ok you could interpretate that they are rare because he only recasts them once a month but ...

For sale

"Porsche 911 carrera. New, 5 km on counter. Color Red. Bought in 2008"

After sale.

Oh, Sorry I forgot to mention it is in scale 35:1 and runs on battery. I did not say anything wrong.

Wel, needless to say I would felt ripped off. It is not about the same amount of money but same reasoning.

Given that you're bandying about economics I assume you're familiar with the concept of lemons and their impact on the market.

Having been fobbed off with a recast once before I find that my need to acquire large numbers of specific BB minis every year at a price that doesn't bankrupt me is still my main driver.

MadLord: If the recasts had the impact of Lemons on the market, the price of a single 2ed Skaven thrower on ebay would not be more than 8€.

The market for lemons bring the price of legitimate goods down and here it is not what is happening.

Recasting is counterfeiting pure and simple because the supply of 2ed figs is not big enough to fill the demand for them. It is in fact so uneven that it is worth it to invest time and money in casting fakes.

Without making a judgment on the morality of recasting, I think that it is a testament to the bad business sense of GW. If there were to recast most of the 2ed teams, they would make a killing. OK be realistic and let say that GW produces the 2ed C.Dwaves, Skavens and Elves, raise a hand those who would buy it instead of the 3ed...

I mean, BB is probably the only GW games that has a recast problem with regular non-limited figs.

I fact, I am not aware that any other GW game was a recast problem...
