What to buy?

Post by voyagers_uk »

Guys - I am confused.

Situation - Just won an award at work which has a cash benefit - Yippee!

Wife automatically has spent most of it... - damn!

I get to buy some BB stuff with approx £45 of it - Yippee!

I have no idea what to buy... - damn!

tabletop league is going really slowly at the moment, as some members have gotten loved up with ex- girlfriends again (just in time for xmas - who said women aren't clever)

Normally I would say I have all the teams I want, and 2 impact cases are already on the xmas list and the wife was checking shipping yesterday so they are on the cards....

I am torn.... do I go retro with 2ed Skaven or daft with Deathbowl Ogres and imps.? or something else I have not considered.

Currently I own.

Dark Elves
Pro Elves
Dwarves
Undead
Norse
2ed Humans

and possess - despite not owning them

Lizards
Amazons.

Skaven all the way.

If the Ogre roster wasn't so crap (imo) now, I'd say the Ogres, but I refuse to let them darken my door in their current form.

Maybe people with a conflict of interest should come with a disclaimer.......

I have also to think about Orcs I suppose. a mix of 2nd and 3ed metals might look good.

2nd Ed Skaven all the way :D

I love the deathball ogres (one of whom is currently ramping up to becoming a killing machine for my human team!), but not as much as my Skavenblight Scarlets...

Placed 2nd with them at the last tournamnet I went to ... not nearly as bad as you'd like to believe they are.

If you can actually get a 2nd edition Skaven team for 45 GBP ... go with that even if I'd like the sale for Impact! of the Ogre team.

Doesn't matter how well they play, or what placing they can get, the roster is awful, and about as far removed from a Ogre roster I'd like to play as it's possible to get while still having Ogres on the roster.
Seriously, as it stands, it's one roster I'd never, ever consider running, ether tabletop or PbeM.
