Tumbling Fling WIP and friends. New Pic.

Post by Chairface »

Heres a project that I've been working on, off and on for a bit now. I wanted to add in a few different, dynamic figs for the Fling team that I'm working on, and when I spoted the basis for this guy a lightbulb went on in my head. For the conversion I used.... Wait. You tell me what I used. :D

I still want to paint a logo on his chest and clean him up a bit. Any suggestions on how to finish him off are welcome.

Thanks mlindsay2706! But no, no Puggy was harmed in the making of this miniature.....

Ok, he started off life as a heroclix fig, Puck from Alpha Flight. I spotted him at a local comic book store. I'm not a heroclix collector at all, but every once in a while I have a look to see if there is anything cool for conversion purposes. (I've used The Blob a couple of times in the past)

Image

It took a little bit of doing to get him into his current state.

1) I cut off his legs at the knees and added feet from a goblin wolfrider
2) I cut his midrift off between the 6 packs to give him a more compact, halfling look
3) I added Kroot shoulder pads with spikes
4) I brown stuffed on a belly, jersey and pant legs onto the body, and then
added hair on the feet
5) I selected a head from my bitbox. I went with the fantasy football boris helmeted head:

Image

It took a bit to get the head looking "halflingish." I added some brown stuff to his cheeks and cut off the horns on the helmet. I then brown stuffed the helmet over the chubby cheeks

Heres the fig pre-paint:

I've named him Puck Yellowbelly.

Thank you for all of the kind words everyone! I enjoyed working on the Tumbling fling so much that I started another one based on the same heroclix model, calling him Belkar Bitterleaf, former ranger turned blood bowl killing machine.

Image

My aim is to have as unique team as possible. For Belkar I used:

One Puck Heroclix figure.
One new style Big Boris ginning head
One Heresy Lord Va'durr ff hand
One chaos marine hand
Feet from a goblin wolfrider
Kroot should pads with spikes
and a few other bits and pieces to recreate one of the most wonderfully psychotic halfling characters ever to grace the internet.

Thanks man! I always appreciate your enthusiasm.

I've actually taken Belkar back to the conversion stage when I realized that his legs are just far too long for a fling. He was small human sized  so I am redoing his legs. Belkar will rise again though!
