40K squats...

Post by valedictor »

Hi guys,

This morning I visited the place where I have been finding lots of cheap 2nd ed. stuff lately, and they have quite a few 1980's metal Warhammer 40K squats for sale. I'm sure I recall someone on here was looking for these guys (Traveller, was it you perhaps?)

I had enough cash on me to buy 2 squats in power armour (or was it called mega armour?), plus they had about half a dozen others dressed in the usual combat fatigues, and also a trike with the rider.

Figured you don't see these minis around much any more, and as I said, I'm sure someone was asking bout them a long time ago, so thought I would let ya know. I am happy to trade the power armored squats for bloodbowl stuff, and also to buy the other squats next week if there is anyone here who will commit themselves to a trade if i buy them on their behalf next week. Let me know if interested.

The easter-egg shaped squats are wearing EXO-armour.

If only I had money, I'd be all over these

I'm interested (would be very interested if Dwarfs were stil allowed ogres) but Sinterklaas (Dutch version of Santa Claus), WFRP books and birthday expenses have already drained my finances for this month...

Maybe later (and after Traveller has declined them)

Oh no, I keep seeing Squats in Exo-Armour... Must have squats... How much would you like for one or two of them, and do you happen to have some pictures (maybe on solegends.com)

Redfang - check out ebay... I searched yesterday to see if there were any auctions for these minis, and sure enough, someone is selling the same two that I have, nice clear pic of them too. Search for exo + squat and it'll bring it up. Link to pic:

I have the one on the right. The other one I have has a row of medals on his chest.

I half-considered removing the arms and adding some unarmoured dwarf arms in their place, and filing off the very minimal overly-futuristic details to create a pair of really tough-looking dwarf blockers, but I couldn't bear the thought of cutting up such wonderful figures, so they are just gonna go on my trade list instead. I'm watching the auction to see what they are worth so I can figure out what I can trade for them fairly.

Well, I'm interested in the one with no medals, I'll check your trades list, but I'm afraid I won't have anything for you...

but I couldn't bear the thought of cutting up such wonderful figures,
i realy understand this.

Yep, I was after this squats... i mean... all squat minis ever produced ( hm, where i said this before  ) quite a time ago. I think, i got all ,except maybe 3 or 4, for this part my collection. Some were even harder to come by than some of the BB minis. :o And some were quite expensive, too. I have to check my homemade squat-catalog, which ones i still need. Some look very similiar and you have to check careful to see the differences.

Hm, after the my bb archive is nearly finished, i should start a squat
archive now ?

Redfang... no fear this time. I will stay away

thats the squats of my collection...

http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/squats.jpg

and i still need more than 4 or 5. I forgot, i dont own all of the 32 Iron Claw Squats made by Bob Olley. Those are rare and quite expensive ones. And some of the chaos squats are missing, too.

Hm, seems i got a new ... old ... aim.
