Tournament-Epilog

Post by Horus »

It was a big thing - man, it was!!!
Some things, that should be made better:

. the coin was much too boring to be named as figure, may be GW should
give blisters or someting that is worth to be proud of....
. the trophy 4 the winner - howcome he didn't get a trophy similar to the
original, that isn't that expensive and would be more honour than that
little mini-trophy - don't forget - Marcos is THE man.

Finally, congratulations to all of you, it was a great tournament.

Keep on touchn' 'n fat'n
Otto

There were many German speaking natives in No'ham. The only two women who played were German. Mannheim BB'ers found eachother in No'ham without ever meeting in their homecity. The stories are endless.

Nope my ranking was 71

I played the Echterdinger Einherier (Humans) at the tournament.
If I remember right there is already something planned for a German
NAF tournament. I keep you informed as soon as I know more.

It was nice playing against you Indigo (and I do not say this because I have won that match - you are a great sportsman and a good tactician ...
although with a bit too much bad luck although ...)

heh thanks :)
your point after the match that I just seemed to stand players up and leave them is quite right - I've since tried using them a little more rather than just doing it as an afterthought.

I think the main reasons you beat me in that match were:

1) Team selection - 2 catchers proved more useful that the 1 I had, although I think my extra blitzer was useful. Perhaps drop Zug next time and get a Catcher.

2) Player positioning - I couldn't fault a single move you made, and it was only when you failed dodge rolls/GFIs that you were left out of shape. I particularly liked your kick off setups, and have started copying them.

Whether we are drawn against each other in the next one or not, I still think we need a rematch!

Sure a rematch would only be fair ...

Another thing troubles me, maybe you could help me with this point Indigo. On the lists from GW I am not listed as a NAF member, but I applied for membership on the tournament.

Do my matches count for my NAF ranking or not ? Who is best to contact for this matter ?

Thanks
Richard

I think there are more NAF members not indicated on the list...

maybe you should just await the ranking tables on the NAF homepage and if you are not listed there, ask Deathwing who is surely busy calculating by now.

I won some impressive titles in 198X, some more in 199X, even more impressive titles in 200X, some of them REALLY impressive, and a few even MORE impressive! Not to mention a lot of less impressive ones.

I think the GW sheets only list players that were NAF members before the tournament. Those of us who signed up on the day aren't marked - but we will get ranking on our games. Otherwise I'll change my sig to "I went to BB '03 and all I got was this lousy coin and some broken blocking dice" ;)

Relborn, Indigo - you both played humans I take it? So did I, and gotta say that 2 catchers is a must. 1 becomes a target, and an easy one with AV 7. And once they have Blodge they make great tag team sweepers

AL: Yes you were right we both played humans. I had 2 in my team Indigo just one.

But I have to say that Indigo did fairly well with even just one catcher ...
depends on what kind of game you are running. But from my POV you could do worse than taking 2 catchers ...

Everybody who signed up at the weekend who competed will be ranked, as will (obviously) those who signed up beforehand. A total of 114 of 175, or around 65%.

Relborn : Did you play a human team with Zug ? Did you win against Dark elf team 2-0 at the last turn ? If yes to both, You have played your last match against me ...
Too many stunned players !

relborn - what does Echterdinger Einher translate as?
I was NAF before the BB and my name wasn't highlighted either, although if none of my results are counted for the BB it'll be OK. Whenever I played a NAF member I lost :(
