Accomodation

Dear BB-Coaches worldwide *g*.
How did/do you organize your stay in Nottingham. I am 1 of the 5-fools-high from Austria and I think about getting to Lenton - but also about our stay there. I don't want to rent a car, so we could either take a bus or train from Stanstead. Is there any bus/train-number I should bear in mind?

The second thing is staying somewhere, I would prefer staying in a B&B.
Should I check that already from home or is it quite easy to get some
place to stay?

How did you plan YOUR trip - thanks 4 any comment.
Greetings Otto

well for train times and stuff go to http://www.railtrack.co.uk there is a timetable button at the top of the page

as for accomodation you might want to look online and try booking somewhere in advance, though I am sure you shouldn't have too much trouble anyway.

The train is quite expensive and you have to get into London because Trains to Nottingham leave from KingsCross / St.Pancras. That means you'll have to use the Stanstead Express, then the tube and then the train.

I think i'll be flying into Heathrow and then take the bus, there's a direct connection from Heathrow Airport to Nottingham. For all destinations check www.gobycoach.com

Stansted to Nottingham is quite a trek.

Trains are expensive, and can be unreliable. Also, the coach takes a LONG time, so unless you are arriving Friday then forget it.

Although you may not want to, a car is certainly the easiest option - straight up the M11, along the A14 then up the M1

When do you arrive?

Indigo: the bad thing is that you have to use the WRONG side of the road and the steering wheel is also on the WRONG side of the car  Although i'm driving 50000km per year, driving in the UK always scares me.

Anyway, for 5 traveling together, renting a car might be the best option.

The coach from Heathrow to Nottingham takes 3:30, that's OK imo. I think it was something like 4:20 with one change from Stanstead.

So the 5-fool-high Austrian-Squad will arrive on FRIDAY. And because going to Nottingham by car with 4 other psychos is also uncomfortable unless you get them in the trunk, I'd like the idea of taking a bus or train.

Hi,

I am a BB vet, but a newby to this forum. I will be going to the BB tournament in March, and as i live in Nottingham, I thought I'd let anyone who is interested know about a handy hotel to stay at for the tourney.

Details can be found on the following website - www.premierlodge.co.uk. If you search for Nottingham, and then select "Nottingham South". Rooms cost £42 a night, i think this will be for a double room.

The hotel is literally 5-10 mins drive from Warhammer World, and WW is easy to find - straight down the A52 in front of the hotel.

If anyone has got any other Nottm questions, let me know !!
