Bloodbowl match reports!

I didnt take a camera this year, so I havnt got any pics to show you. But I'll write a report of the tourney instead. I took my undead team hoping to improve on my poor show last year. My aim was top half placing.
First game on Saturday was against some woodelves without any rerolls. It was a great game and my opponent was a great guy, although rather lucky! He scored 1 in the first half with me unable to reply until the second half. I scored quickly and hoped that he would make some mistakes or get bad luck. It took a while but he finally tripped going for it (at last) I scooped up the ball, paced up the field for 2-1.
This took me to about table 30 I think. I played against some Skaven. They didnt really have a clue to be honest. I caused alot of casualties this game much like my previous game. I played saftey BB without taking to many risks. Another great opponent, and a 3-1 win to me.
This propelled me yet furthur up the tables. I played against undead. He took a similar lineup to me but only had 11 players and 4 rerolls. He played well on offense but make some crazy moves that came off, although I managed to stop his TD in similar fashion. He bashed me well and truely and I was two men down for the second half. After some savvy play and sneaky handoffs I managed to score. Then it fell apart, I was tired and thought I had the game in the bag. Slack defense meant that he scored a two turn TD. 1-1.
At this point I was happy. Undefeated in the first day, and on the top row of tables. The second day couldnt possibly be as good.
First game of the day was agaisnt Zy-Noz (although I didnt realise it at the time). He was obviously a seasoned veteran due to his skill choices ( I never even considered strip ball on a ghoul). In the first hald I recieved and after some initial poor play and a lil' bit of bad luck I manged to rectify it with a TD. Second half saw total dominance by Zy-Nox. He out bashed me well and truely and I was down to only a few men to stop his touchdown. Due to some miracle dice I managed to dely his drive for 6 turns! This was vital. I recieved intending to play for the draw amd hide the ball in the corner. I blitzed with a wight in an overly optimistic hope of scoring. When push came to shove, Zy-Nox simply rolled the wrong dice. Doubleskulls by him meant that I could make a short pass to the wight in a TZ, then onedice blitz, dodge on 3+ and go for it twice to score and win. I was totally shell shocked, and didnt understand! I'd won in the most bizzare circumstances.
Game 5 was against Carlos from the Spanish team. He was good, although majory lucky! He managed to injury 4 players in 4 turns in the first half. He played safe, but I felt I could still get something despite my lack of players. End of the first half saw me blow a pickup roll to equalise. Second half was another struggle and I played my heart out. Best BB I've ever played. I managed to hurt a few of his players, but was still outmaned almost 2 to 1. I wriggled into a position to score again, only needed a pickup (with surehands again) and blew it again! That was game over 0-1. A great game but definatly one to forget.
Back a few tables but still on the top row. My final game was against Firebreathers Pro Elves. As the game kicked off I could tell that Firebreather was also a seasoned tourney pro.
A double 1 as the first dice roll I made meant it was 1-0. His blitzers were a real pain, but my Mummys were equally so. I caused many many casualties and KOs and went into half time 1-1. Second half started in my favour with a few more KO's and Casualties. I managed to trot the ball in in turn 16 for 2-1 with only 1 elf left on the pitch. I did feel sorry for firebreather, it was a one sided game luckwise and probably quite boring to be on the recieving end of two really slow, grinding drives.
After sportsmanship points (which were too important to the overall standings) I finished 12th. I had a great weekend and all my opponents were top blokes (in stark contrast to last year!), which is why I was especially chuffed.
The Evesham bloodbowlers did themselves no harm this weekend either, having at least 3 members on the top tables for each round after round 2!
I'm there next year!
