Accommodation Guide

I'm putting together a list of accommodation in Nottingham for a bloodbowl web site and I need input.
I'll go through the various old accommodation threads, but if people could give me their quick reviews of where they have stayed if would be very useful.
Something allong the lines of
Code: Select all
Travel Inn South
Pros: Close to GW (15-20min walk along the canal), good parking, near Macdonalds and Supermarket (sainsburys?)
Cons: Expensive (£40+ per night)
Other comments: Very popular with coaches, fills up very quickly (several months in advance) due to walking distance from GW HQ.
Any comments on if they complain about late night drunkards, places to eat/drink near by or other useful info? Also multiple reviews for hotels/hostels would be useful so as to get an unbiased view, so please leave your comments even if someone else has already.
If anyone wants to write a more indept review that would be useful too.
Thanks

The Igloo Hostel
Pros: Cheap, very (around £15 per night), lots of food/pubs nearby, close to city center.
Cons: Dorm room, no privacy, shared bathrooms.
Other Comments: Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Very basic.

Code: Select all
The Holiday Inn, Castle Marina (right next to the travel inn)
Pro - within walking distance to GW HQ via canal towpath (15-20 mins). good parking. security / night porter let's you in after hours. close to local amenities (supermarket, fast food restaurants)
con - slightly expensive at around £40 per night. book early to get more discount.
Other comment - As the Travel Inn get's full quickly, this could be an idea. more rooms available than the Travel Inn too.

If you do not mind staying a little way out, but in comfort try this hotel.
"East Wood Hall"
http://www.hayley-conf.co.uk/pages/eastwood.html
Last year I stay there £50 per twin room per night, did not need to eat until tea time due to the fact the breakfast were so big (4 egg's per person).
It is about 10 miles from GW HQ
You have to phone up and ask about the weekend offers.
Extra Infor.
book in this year for the warmaster (Call-To-Arms) room are still £50 as long as you stay two night

I find "my mother in laws house" a very reasonable stay. It costs £nil but you do have to put up with questions about why you haven't given her any grandkids yet

, and avoid the derranged cat with a fetish for clawing your feet whilst you sleep.
.... hmm on second thoughts I might stay in a hotel after all.....
Sorry its not very helpful, but couldn't reist.

Don't know if this is any help, but we stayed in P&J hotel last year. It's a b&b, and within staggering distance of BBHQ. Rooms are roughly £60 pounds a night, and the breakfast was lovely.
lol....PLenty of BB'ers to chat to on a morning.
