Yes, but with produce, when it's not being bought in the large quantities it's normally required in it's then got to be dealt with (and depending how long the boycott goes, that can be a rather unpleasant task). Some peoples entire livelihood depends on their produce being sold, whereas for GW BB is a very small facet of their organisation.

GW sees a boycott on BB? Great! Let's get rid of that 'board making' process, melt all the bits we have down and make more space marines (if I can say 'space marines' without a C&D... ZING)

Now if there was a 40kGT boycott, then man would that crowd be heard...

If a boycott was performed.... it would make alot of sense to award double points for the Roze Bowl instead ;)

Besides, we could always give Lycos a special dispensation to go sit with the noobs without having rocks thrown at him. I guess we could even visit him or meet/greet people during the breaks.
Luckily for NAF Lycos has a great relationship with GW and doesn't need to resort to petty renegade alternative tournaments to get his point across. Trust me, words will have been said, but I 100% guarentee that a) there will be at least 100 coaches at the GT
b) Lycos will award double points for the GT and (out of diplomacy) may not NAF rank the Roze Bowl
c) This is an overeaction of the dumbest proportions. Wake up and smell the real world ffs.

Well said Leon.

I will be going.

I probably won't be going.

It's expensive (both ticket and accomodation).
It's a fair distance for me to travel.
Worse timing than in previous years.

And a lot of signal to noise in coaching quality (i've had some of my hardest games there but also played people who I had to tutorial the rules to).

I'd rather spend the time and money going to other tournies.

Don't get me wrong, if people choose not to go because of the price and air conditioning issues, fair enough.

I just think it's idiotic to boycott the event over an enforced (upon GW) copywrite infringement. How much disruption did it cause apart from to the guys involved in the switch to TFF? None.

I think Woody put it best when he said "Naive". There does seem to be an incredible naivity to the real world on here sometimes...

I agree that a boycott is out of all proportion, and with a great deal of what Silly had to say; my GT agenda is mainly spending time with people that I know won't make another event in the year, rather than any of the baggage others pin to it. As such, it's one of the highlights of my year.

If you want to protest or make a point, perhaps a clever team name? Getting 'Leave TBB alone, you buggers!' in a future LRB would probably make a point. ;)

I think the dates being brought forward are going to have an effect though. Bank Holiday weekend, which means I might not be able to make it after all (BH are the some of the busiest times at work for me).

I'm gonna put a holiday request in Thursday - hopefully with 6+ months to go, the boss won't realise the significance. ;)
