Re: Three Die Block - Blood Bowl Podcast
In our league, League Champion tours the Old World and takes a season off, the last place team takes a season off (of course Tier 3 teams are exempt from this).
You want a league with a lot of the same skills, like the Claw Bomb stuff, then go "Both Down" style and go random skills!
We also use all inducements in our league. Zara the Slayer on a the Halfling team works so well in our league.

Re: Three Die Block - Blood Bowl Podcast
Thanks for adding your local flavor, finley! We have a serious Star Player bias here and I openly admit to being anti-Star Players. But we did try to talk about them as a way of "eveing the odds" so to speak.
I like making the champ team tour the world for a season - makes perfect sense!
I also liked Thadrin's suggestion of limiting only Mutations taken. Easy to remember and does not cripple any teams, at least not that I can see.
Except Underworld should get all the Two Heads they want!

Re: Three Die Block - Blood Bowl Podcast
I'd except Underworld on the basis that Mutation access is their schtick, and they - for the most part - lack the strength that makes teh Chaos teams such efficient killing teams.
Underworld Goblins with Claw? tempting, but there are better skills (two heads, horns, prehensile tail) for them.

Re: Three Die Block - Blood Bowl Podcast
If you have a bash problem in your league try changing the spiralling expenses table. Maybe start it at TV 185 (to give the agility teams a break) and close the gap for the increases to 10 (even
instead of 15. Must agility and lower tier teams don't get to TV205+ often so the only teams that would suffer the expenses increase are the bashy/killer teams. Also, with the later start to expenses most agility teams will be able to have a bigger roster before they start lossing money.

[STANDS AND JUST CLAPS]
seriously Chance that has to be my favourite episode of your elf loving little podcast. I really enjoyed it, every step of the way.
I wish I had been there in the room, that is what I want from your podcast.
Xtreme and that other doofus are brilliantly mental with a shade of humour that is rare in an online world
Shaun and his sidekick are goofy but spot on with what they try to do.
Senor Prime and the Strawberry Blonde Lantern have found a slot in our hearts with their fluff based campaigning...
but you guys are just people I want to have a few beers with and throw ideas around.
Damn I wish I lived near you.
[/STILL CLAPPING]

Re: Three Die Block - Blood Bowl Podcast
Thanks for the not one but TWO shout outs guys! I was so excited to listen to this episode and really enjoyed the feedback.
Thought I might throw this up here but I mentioned this in a PM to Chance-
In a league we had here in NYC we tried limiting death squad teams with an idea similar to bounties - Fines. Teams would be charged the starting value of a player whenever they killed a opposing model. The money would be taken from the offending teams treasury AFTER winnings were added.
This meant you would not only not make money if you killed players but may in fact lose money from you existing treasury. This was a simple but elegant solution that both kept high av teams treasury low without needing cash strapped teams to pay in and helped demotivate coaches from making those 6+ claw pomb death squads.
The long term goal was that a third season chaos coach have only 10-50k in the bank would have to gamble sending that killer warrior out on his own to tear up a human lineman.
Love the show you guys, every week is getting better than the last!

Our pleasure, gaftra! If listeners keep sending in such good suggestions, we'll have material for a very long time.

Re: Three Die Block - Blood Bowl Podcast
do other leagues send you guys examples of league newsletters, they are always a good source of banter, especially if the Commish takes pride in what he is doing (and the league is widely dispersed geographically without a stable playing venue.)
I should dig out some of the ones that a Commish put together for a league I was in. I contributed some bits but he was very imaginative.
