Yeah, after that Romeo interview I was all like "Where's all the D's and B's?". Then along came the Bertha interview. Thank you Bouf for saving the episode!

Not that the Romeo interview wasn't a good listen, it just wasn't Zlurpcast enough.

I think Zlurpcast just fell into the same trap that, among othera, the D6 generation fall into: sponsor interviews feel like Infomercials. Especially with Battlefoam, who keep popping up sponsoring various podcasts.

Have to say that I think his ad, where he says the C4 is specifically designed for BB is stretching truth to it's limits, when the name, the interview and common sense say that they've adjusted their CCG bag (rulebook binder built in? Do that wasn't originally designed to hold pages of CCG cards then?).
Between what I've heard about BF - do a search on them at tabletopgamingnews.com - and their extortionate transatlantic shipping (not that they're alone on that) I'll be sticking with what I use now.
Hopefully Zlurpcast will get back to normal next month.

I haven't listened yet, but I'm going to have a hard time not skipping past Romeo doing his usual used car salesman pitch. I know too many people in the business world that he's pissed on to buy any of his products.

It makes me a bit sad to see Zlurpcast supporting him.

Appreciate the feedback guys. Truthfully, it all came about from me being jealous of Xtreme's C4 bag.

Xtreme modified his pitch to fit perfectly in the pocket and not only did I want one, but I wanted to talk to the dude who created the bag. Lifetime guaranteed foam and storage bags with specific games in mind to me seems like a good company to have on the show....just as a guest!

He surprised me after agreeing to the interview by offering to give me a bag and sponsor a contest.

Regarding the "specifically designed for BB" stuff....that is all me, so please don't fault Romeo. I made the commercial. He did design that bag for card games originally (hence the C4 name), but then realized a lot of skirmish miniature games would work well in its compact design format. In my opinion, it is the perfect case for Blood Bowl because I like to travel light (my gut doesnt count).

The other issue with this cast was we had to include Romeo's entire interview, since we recorded the rest on the road and just didn't have enough content. I would have normally edited that sucker down.

I promise 6-8 more male genital references next month! :smoking:

That was going to be my first question - if I have to chop my board up to fit in there properly, it ain't for me! I can stuff my board and 4 teams (just) into a Mantic Messenger Bag, and $35 shipping to the UK on a minimum $45 bag ain't great.

I'm more worried by your punctuation obsession. Whether it's MoFugginMephisto and his exclamation and question marks, or Bertha and her ampersands, at-signs and percentages... I bet you get your kicks from using that shift key and hitting the numbers ;)

On a serious note, though, this was probably my favourite Zlurpcast. I'm more of a 3DBer (that's Die Block, of course, not D'n'B), really, but this may explain the slightly negative above reaction from some of the long-time Zlurpcast fans, for whom it wasn't 'Zlurpcasty' enough.

I didn't have a problem with it though personally I think the c4 is far too big, especially if you are taking your team on a flight and only want hand luggage and have room for a chance of clothes.

The PACK Mini looks better for the job, don't see why you need space for more thane one team, though compared to the Feldherr Mini case is isn't very good value. The postage for that is still $35 for the small case (don't see why it comes with a tool foam tray either, 3 troop trays would be a better deal, or one tray and a price drop). It is £22+postage from Wayland, though the Feldherr mini case can be had for £14.50+postage and holds 32 minis as opposed to 19 and isn't that much bigger.

I'm seeing if I can get a PACK Mini to review side by side with the Feldherr case and the Impact case.

For the record I didn't have any issues with the interview and I certainly don't begrudge anyone getting free stuff (which you are giving away anyway) considering the amount of work you put into each show. I enjoyed the show as much as I have the previous ones. Though with all the talk you guys have about the Chicago Bunker toilets you should probably change names to urinal guy and stall guy instead of main and other!

PACK mini is great I have one of those as well. If you don't need your bb rulebook board etc in the case it is awesome. You can order them without the tool foam and get an extra troop tray. Never noticed the shipping cost before, since i'm US based but that does look ridiculous.

We will be back to our normal form next month we have some really cool things planned, and none of them will be a sponsor interview. :)

I too have C4 bag and love it for it's ability to carry 2 teams, stars and my dice and books. But I have to echo the above comments in that Romeo is... not exactly the sort of guy I'd recommend that Zlurpcast endorse. Miniature gaming is a small industry and it's hard to ignore Battlefoam's questionable litigiousness: http://bloodofkittens.com/blog/2010/09/ ... attlefoam/

It's too bad. It's a good product, but a company that I wouldn't want to support any more with my dollars. Just like GW. :(

It's actually worse than that website suggests Warpstone. I was hanging out with the Warstore guys after hours every night of this last GenCon, and have a pretty good grasp of what went on there.

Seriously, if Romeo would just shut up and keep making a solid product he'd do fine. Apparently beating your competition by producing a superior product isn't good enough though - as GW showed us, the correct course is to C&D everything that moves. And then sue anyone that resists out of existence (or try to, until the Judge laughs at you).

The Sabol thing was hysterical... they weren't even at GenCon.
