Still awaiting answers both from NAF hotmal email and Lycos PM... nothing happens... what you have to do to get a member?

I have just left him an answerphone message asking him to contact you.

He has had an awful lot on his plate recently, and just been to Italy for the Eurobowl for 4 days.

He genuinely cares too much about Blood Bowl and the community, so I'm sure you're at the top of his things to do (after a well earned rest)

Thats really nice, thanks.

I had a very brief PM exchange with Lycos, but then he forgot me sadly.

Also thinking about joining the NAF. (mainly for the block dice - my ebay-ed blood bowl set turned up with everything but the dice) Does anyone know how long it takes for the dice to arrive once you join?

You can also join at most tournaments (if a NAF representative is there), even if you don't play there. So ifsomething is going on in your area in the next weeks, this might be an option.

Thanks. Sadly, living in Japan, there isn't a lot of blood bowl played locally, so my only incentive is really for the dice.

Yes I am not aware of that many players in Japan. I think we have shipped dice there once or twice before that was some years ago when I was Membership Director.

I will drop you a PM for what you need to do.

What put me off was having to pay by Paypal. If you could pay direct I would have been a member years ago.

Yes im spamming this thread.

Been trying to get some help for many many many weeks now, got some brief answers, but really no help.

And as the NAF "join" link seems to never come up, i ask:

Is NAF dead?

definately not, I'll drop lycos a line on this. I'm totally ignorant in the dice-sending department but I do know they are sent out in batches as that saves a load of trips to the post office

Tried joining and payed through PayPal. Contacted them using 3 different mail addresses multiple times. Never heard from them. In the end I filed a claim with PayPal to get my money back. After a month I received a mail from Davis Downes telling me they saw my membership request and inquired what my problem was. I asked them if they where joking contacting me after a month and after I had to force them for a refund, but they assured me they where not.

So I wouldn't try to join.

The NAF is not an online shop for Blood Bowl dice. :pissed:

While i would agree that things could run smoother sometimes, people should realize that the NAF is run in a voluntary spare time effort by a couple of individuals, show a bit of patience and not expect a service level of a professional organisation.

Agreed.

I first joined the NAF at the first Blood Bowl tournament at Nottingham (and met Woody for the first time- what a gent!) but when family intervened and stopped my annual geekfest I renewed via the website and yes, sometimes it took weeks or months to get the dice etc but it is run by volunteers and I join to support the organisation and to use the website.
I have recently renewed (about a month ago) and am not at all bothered how long it takes to get my package as it's getting close to Christmas and everyone's time is tight.

Bottom line: these guys are reliable, trustworthy and will sort you out.

Patience is a virtue.
Volunteering is admirable.

I joined back in August around mid-month and have yet to receive the dice, though that is not the main reason I joined. How often are batches sent out, 3-4 times a year? Just curious, thanks!
