its only 12 minis as well would have been nice if he had done the full team

though i suppose if you can also paint to that standard it doesn't matter ;]

Okay it is with a sigh of relief that I report I'm 95% sure this is not the team from BB Mag #1. I'm tapped out of spending cash. Just paid 600 USD last week for a team that was published in BB Mag and for the blood-bowl.net casting of my own limited edition fantasy football miniature.

There are important differences. Examples:

Where is Lucky Luc and the Cheerleader?
Thrower on BB Mag #1 has Blue/Gold Belt buckle ... this team has red and blue.
Thrower has a skull hole on the Ebay team ... on BB Mag #1 its been smoothed over and removed.
Catcher on the BB Mag team has a right leg red kneepad .. the Ebay team is blue.
The grass is continuous on the BB Mag #1 team for the thrower across the front of the base between the two figs ... the Ebay team has a stony break in the middle.

I'm sure I could find more. This is a team that was done using the BB Mag #1 cover as a template ... but I'm very confident its not the actual team.

The other big give away that's its not the BB Mag team.

Its exactly the 12 figs that you get if you order an Amazon team from mail order.

I tried this last year, but no sculptors were willing to face off against GW legal if it got messy..

shame, I had some great plans for models..

I like this team though so I'm going for it... GA if possible

Galak - any chance you're going to get more photos up of your collection? I really want to see exactly what BB stuff you have. The pics on your site at the moment are more like tantalising sneak peeks - I want more!!! ;)

I'm using Monday Knight Productions ( http://mondayknight.com/Home3.htm ). Its a single figure cast with a 300 run. We agreed to 350 USD for 300 figures in loose metal (ie no packaging for resale) shipped along with the production mould. I provided them a single master to create a master mould and then create the production mould for for the casting job.

I contracted the job at the end of July with the agreement of figures by the end of October and they contacted 2 days ago to let me know they were on schedule. They were willing to perform the work with payment when the casting was completed (we however had a signed agreement for services to be rendered and my master of the figure was my 'collateral').

As for copyright ... we talked about that. I am creating a fantasy football figure just like Heresy, Phigs, Shadowforge, Hasbro, and RAFM already also sell. The concept of Fantasy Football is not copyrightable. So at no point in time should you say its a Blood Bowl miniature. Heck my figure is for the red BattleBall team.

I know Phil uses a different caster than this in the US ... but I've been warned away from using him by too many sources, so I went down a different path.

If you still have those ideas Norse ... you might want to check them out.

I'll try. Two other people have actually seen my collection: Acerak and OldManMonkey. I had the whole Chaos Wasters team and several members of the Red Death Cavaliers at the Underworld Cup in 2002 also.

Anything in particular you are looking for? Or just more pics in general. There were pictures in Blood Bowl Mag #4 of pieces of my collection also.

Since I posted those pictures to my website, I have picked up a few more items for the "hands off kids" display case. The original Ogre used by Paul Sawyer (aka FatBloke) in the Chaos Wasters (not included in the picture in White Dwarf of the team). Also picked up the first ever Blood Bowl Legacy team ... The BBOWL-L Legacy Chaos Team ... the one that started it all. Pics of that team are at: http://www.cowell.org/~andy/min/bb/spike.html

I have acquired one other published team recently, but until that one is actually in my hands and the case ... I'll abstain from discussion.

Will be there any way for normal motals who aren't going to win any of your US tourneys or haven't managed to be the 100,000th visitor of your web page to get their hands on the limited blood-bowl.net mini? I suppose being member of TBB won't be enough. :(

Once I have the figures, I plan on putting a Want List up on my website. You'll be able to get one of these figures by trading me one of the 2nd edition figures I'm still missing from my collection for them. Currently, I'm planning on trading even up. One of these figures for one of the figures I'm missing from my collection. Then I'll be able to finally finish my collection. Traveller bet me to it (although I have the two BB coins also ... :D )

Folks like Darkson have asked if current merchandise could be used .... I'll going to possibly consider this also. First it been a while since I've done an inventory of my collection. I need to figure out what figures I'm still missing before I can decide how many I'll have left after what I need to finish out the collection.

The scuplter made me promise to never sell the figures only barter them. So no offers of cash can be accepted.

Is that to avoid potential legal problems?
Understandable if it is.

Doubt I will have anything you'll need for your collection, but would nicely painted stuff count?

I figured offering a "fantasy football" miniature as a prize for a BB tournament would be a legal no go - after all, it's clearly a BB tournament, not a fantasy football one. *starts to think about next year's tournament*

You haven't finished your BB collection yet? Not that you had claimed anything liked that before but I thought it is a proven fact somehow...

Well I spent all my money and resources picking up published teams and the really difficult to get items (Lizardmen Cheerleader, Res Gutter Runner, GD 2000 Lizardman team, Mithril Spyke, etc.) that I never took the time to fill in the holes here and there in my collection of 2nd edition figs. I have all the 1st, 3rd, and 4th edition figs. I have almost all the LRB releases (getting a full Ogre team, Ramtut, and Zara in November through a deal with an auction house which will make me up to date for all new figures). I also finished my other company Fantasy Football collection by obtaining all the Shadowforge and Phigs figures that have been produced to date.

But my idea for my own figure started almost 2 years ago, and at that point I decided that since I could only barter the figure ... I probably should have something I wanted to barter them for    ... so I stopped 2 years ago looking for the 2nd edition figures I still needed. Otherwise, I'd probably have finished my collection by now.

Anyway, I think I still need something like 30 or so 2nd edition figs, so as soon as I get the limited edition figure in I'll post a new Galak's Most wanted page on my site and on TBB.

Oh and Indigo ... the barter only wasn't anything having to do with Copyrights. It was just the scupltor desire that the figure not be mass produced and sold. He wanted only a limited edition bartered figure ever made for it as part of the deal of selling me the green. The scupltor of the figure was Phil Lewis. So it does have a fairly well known name attached to it. Phil made the rules for the casting of his green ... and I didn't have a problem with them.

Also the figures can be given out as prizes. We had hoped the figures would be ready in time for one to be given at the Death Bowl. No go. I might bring one up to the Underworld Cup 2003 to let JKL have an extra prize for the tournament or for use as a prize in the traditional Triple Skulls contest. A fun event closer started at the Underworld Cup last year and carried over into the GenCon Bowl 2003, the DeathBowl 2003, and I think Orion Cup 2003.
