WTB: 2nd edition dwarves, + other questions
would love to get a bunch of 2nd edition dwarves for my first team, probably looking for:
9 long beards
2 blitzers
2 runners
2 cheerleaders
1 kicker
and also looking for
2 troll slayers (4th edition is also fine i guess - havent seen the pictures of the 2nd edition ones)
1 deathroller (again 4th edition or less)
any dwarves with beer! (Bugman is going to be my head coach)
so I have a few questions...
1) Anyone want to sell me these?
2) How rare are they?
3) Can anyone point me to a list of sites that sell oop bloodbowl figures?
4) Can anyone point me to a url that has the pictures of all of these dwarves? I saw a link on here once before but can't remember where
thankyou

Find a full list of 2nd edition miniatures here:
http://www.midgardbb.com/BB2ndEd/2ndEdMinis.html
Or here:
http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de
As you can see, there's no such thing as 2nd edition Dwarf Longbeards or Slayers. GW Still sells some Dwarfs with beer. I still have some from a set of 4 drunken Dwarfs that was sold a few years ago for Warhammer (sorry, need them myself) and recently I ordered and got the "Dwarf Dead Drunk".
Old GW Catalogues can be found on: www.solegends.com (citadel=GW)
Getting old Dwarf BB minis is often quite easy through ebay...
Hope this helps,
R

If you start building a dwarf team... nice chances to convert old warhammer minis. I did this with my spectator for my stand as you can see at my website www.ruediger-rickassel.de BTW... there you can see all the 1.ed, 2.ed and 3.ed Dwarfs, too, as redfang wrote before.
I ordered from MO this nice warhammer minis : To shield bearer and the the Dwarf standing on the shield... maybe you knew the comic Asterix ? One of the characters, called Majestix, ist standing... or mostly, trying to keep standing
..., on a silimiar shield. But until now i was to busy to convert the minis as i was working to collect all BB minis
But i nearly finish and started to convert some mini...
BTW... from where are you .. down under ?

I have a bunch of 2nd ed Dwarves I can let go. Hit the e-mail button below this post and I'll send you a list.
I used to use the kickers as runners and the blitzer with the headband as trollslayers.
By the way, baserings are definately the way to go if you want to use 2nd ed Dwarves on a 3rd ed roster.

I did the same thing that Snotsngrots did. I used Blockers and Linemen as Linemen (the Blockers are little bigger), Blitzers with helmets as Blitzers, the Blitzers with headband as Troll Slayers and Kickers as Runners.
By the way, if you want an Ogre, the new "Ogre Team" ogres would fit in with the look of the team far better than any of the earlier ogres.

> and Kickers as Runners.
I was hoping that it would be possible to convert them so their foot was on the ground and they were leaning forward. Has anyone tried this?

I hadn't even thought of ogres, but this idea is too good to pass up. How GOOD would they look! Awesome.
> use the thrower as runner. (ball in his hands)
I doubt I would, as I don't really imagine the dwarves as holding the ball in the air or throwing. Would be worth doing the model anyway incase i manage to make my own dwarf thrower!
> Normal 3rd ed blitzers
Hey yeah 3rd ed blitzers could really work - I was wondering how i could distinguish the blitzers. And this way i might not need to paint the bases different colours. Don't think i really like that idea...
So i would end up with something like:
10 longbeards: 2nd ed blockers, blitzers and/or line-dwarves
2 runners: converted 2nd ed kickers
2 blitzers: 3rd edition longbeards or blitzers, or longbeards with spikey conversions
2 trollslayers: 3rd ed trollslayers or WFB conversions
1 ogre: new ogre - yeah!
1 deathroller: gotta have one of these to paint!
1+ cheerleaders: these are way cool...
1 thrower: just in case
Wicked the more i think about this the more exciting it gets. I havent done any modelling for a couple of years so its about time i got back into it. I'm going to get a set of the wonderful vellejo (sp) paints to try them out. As i have a half-finished WFB dwarf army (that game is too expensive for me now) i can convert an excellent fan base.
Now to Color Scheme. I am thinking of blue and white, though white can be a bugger to paint right. I think it would really suit their uniform tho. Maybe a little red detail - face guard mainly. Yeah i keep imagining them with white, but maybe red/white, green/white, purple/white hmm. might have to draw up a few pictures to decide
Thanks for all the help guys...
