Hi all TBBers,

Just a quickie! I know a chap who will sell me 174 2nd Ed Figures :o and 54 Plastic Figures  and 2 Game Boards for $350 US.

The 2nd Ed Figures consist of 1 Chaos, 32 Dark Elves, 17 Dwarves, 15 Elves, 21 Goblins, 7 Halflings, 28 Humans, 16 Orcs, 35 Skaven and 2 Snotlings. I don't know the make up of the plastic figures or the board types.

Does this sound like a good deal?

Thank you in advance for lending me your wisdom!!

Dan.

Well if you do decide to buy all these, there will be many people here who would be interested in buying some/most/all of these from you.

I for one am interested in all the elves and some of the skaven. )oh, and maybe some of the human)

If you buy these, you should make a list of exactly what pieces they are (ie. skaven thrower 1, dwarf kicker 2, etc.) and how many of each. You will have no problem getting rid of the minis you don't want to keep for yourself.

Worth the dollar value though??

From looking at the prices on ebay, probably, especially if you find some rare or sort after ones.

Personally, I would be interested in the Skaven, but having no money, and moving in a couple of months, means I would be prevented from buying any  .

Plenty of TBB'ers would be though.

i´m just thinking about only the metall 2.e minis.

hm, 174 each 2 $US thats... 348 US$. And normal i would pay about 2-3 $US for each "normal" 2.ed mini. And most ebayer would pay more. And if you can sell whole teams... and as plus Gameboards and plastics... looks like a good deal... if you want to resell the minis. Lot of work to sell it at ebay. But here in the forum you could sell a lot anyway...

I´m in , maybe for some Goblins...

Yes, I agree.
But don't count the plastic minis, slam them on the two boards and calculate those as Basic Boxed games with missing components (I do not know if you get the dice, templates etc along).

You should make up your mind first which minis you would like to keep and which to sell.
Skaven will sell best, followed by Humans
Goblins (and maybe Darkelves, too) the worst.
That does not mean that you won't be able to sell them, you will just get fewer money for them.

Theoretically you just need only 16 minis for a team, but in reallity every BB fanatic has 20-24 just to cover all possibilities of a team line-up. And if you wanna play halflings or Orcs you will probably need some extra figs to fill up your squad.
I guess, this is a good offer but not a terrible bargain. But if you wanna start a collection go for it bc. to get all those minis even cheaper will take hard and long work. Depends on you.

P.S too bad that there are no big guys, thats the only downside

Sounds like an interesting deal, especially if it contains stuff you need, and if you can sell the other stuff.

If you want to sell, I'm VERY interested in the Dwarfs.

If you're not going to buy the stuff, tell the guy to come over here.
We'll help him off his minis 8)

Danwantsin2, watch out!

You will end up owning just the two boards, the plastic minis and nothing else :P

BTW, I'm interested in the Dwarves, too.

Oh s***, I think Redfang and I will meet us at the next ebay BB dwarf auction. Looking foward for that, though.

Well, that might just happen, narkotic

I am already receiving a large load of Dwarfs though, some doubles as well.

I'm just trying to collect all of them

Maybe on the next auction we'll just have to make a deal between us?

R

BTW Dave will probably be joining the fun on the next auction as well.

The more, the merrier!

I'm always open for deals and negotiations 8)

I'm not collecting dwarves (yet) just want an old team for casual play.

Everytime when a TBBler jumps up and says "me too, me too, me too" (like me for example) I think "oh, no" but on the second thought it pays-off more on the middle and long-run to have GAs, split-deals and off-hand trades within TBB.

hahahahaha.... the Utrecht Dwarf conection try again... getting grip in Germany , too .

.... and nooo, we are just players , no collectors ....

Do you knew, there is no antidot against collector disease ?
Ah, just one, " no more money serum "

I'd be interested in buying Humans. Also Elves, Skaven and Goblins if there's any to spare.

If that will help defray the cost.

Yes, Traveller

I know, I'm being turned, slowly but surely.

It's just that at the Dutch Open I saw 2 more Dwarf Teams, and they were all identical except paint work. I just want some replacement for 10 longbeard models...

And once I got started on thinking that, I figured, What the Heck, I'll just try to get them all now...

R

(I tried to get a dose of no-money seru before it was too late, but incredibly, torg outbid my 21 pounds for a 1st edition ogre...
That foiled my attempt, now I have (some) money again.)

:o Thanks for all of your responses. As Nark said I am  that there was no Big Guys in the bunch but such is life.

I've got no probs buying under my own steam but I dare say I will wish to unload a fair amount.

Having said that I will probably look at keeping at least one of each type (which I think was about 100 ... adds up pretty quickly) as I already have most of the 3rd Ed Teams and Stars.

But any left overs, including the plastics and game boards (less 1 if they're styro) I will bring onto TBB. I will probably ask you guys at that time the fairest way to offload them so everyone that is interested gets a crack.

Cheers,
Dan.

I would also be interested in pruchasing some of your leftovers. Just post what is left and everyone will sort through it :)
