http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Bowl-Board- ... Blood+Bowl

$210 for the 3rd edition box set. :o

I heard whenever an ebay or amazon purchase is completed involving something GW, some suit at GW passes a kidney stone.

Outrages!

I am looking to buy a Blood Bowl board game, but i dont think I'm prepared to pay that price. I have heard of replica blood bowl board games including pitch, dugouts and range rulers.

Does anyone know of such replicas and do they sell them?

Search Impact! miniatures for SSB beginner kit, it will have all you need to get going.

That is pretty funny. I didn't realise they were now out of stock - I bought 10 boxes only a few months back.

Impact, FF-Fields.com, probably Tritex and Comixininos, and I'd still look on ebay. A lot of people will put them up for a lot cheaper (where you'll just get the pitch, for example). There is no reason to pay $200+ for a standard GW third edition box set. There are a fair number of 2nd edition astrogranite boards available as well, some might even be painted. Smaller squares and one extra row in the end zone that is no longer used, but if you disregard those 2 rows and use the passing chart, it'll work just fine.

And as an aside, you can't get anything BB from GW any longer on the U.S. site. Not sure about the U.K.

After seeing this I just scooped up a second copy for $40 off of kijiji. It was played with once.

I did an audit on my newly acquired copy and did GW ever cheap out on the card stock. The team dugouts, star player cards, summary cards etc are half the thickness of my 3rd edition copy that I bought back in 2003.

I have an unopened box set that I put away about seven years ago - I had intended to bequeath it to my kids as they grew older. Now they are teenagers, I realise that they really don't give a stuff about Dad's stupid obsession about orcs and elves playing a game. I'll save it for the grandchildren then ;)

Quite annoying, really. All I want is the board from this set, but you can barely get that for love nor money either.
