Surface shipping - how long?

This'll teach me for not reading the fine print, but anyways...

I bought a fig from an eBay seller in the UK. I'm in Canada. I pay the bill, and await the package. Since buying, I've had at least one other small package arrive from the UK, so I go back to eBay, and realize for the first time that he's not sending it by airmail, but surface.

Anyone know how long I should wait for this package? I've read that it takes on the order of months. Does that match your experiences with surface shipping to locations across the pond?

Surface can take 3 months (sometimes 4 depending on holidays)

But you need to raise a case with ebay before 45 days...

Do not forget customs.That can be up to 45 days addional.

Maybe at 40 days raise a case just in case it doesn't come and get ebay to extend the waiting period?
