Because the plural is dice and singular is die
i.e. you have one die
you have two dice

however due to the fluid nature of language dice has been taken as the singular in some shape or form for a while now as well.

To answer the original question, at $10 a pair (trio) the new NAF (not-white) dice could be purchased, getting you membership though the end of time. I think.
