US Challenge Coins - the company that we went through to make the Spike! 2010 Coin has begun to start selling these coins on ebay for $23 a pop. Their ad is down here:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Spike-Blood-Bowl-Gra ... 4aa84a6f5c
We still have coins from when we ran the Spike! back in September still kicking around. We made 100 of them and we had around 50 coaches at the Spike! We gave away about half a dozen away as promos, sold a few to members that didn't go to the Spike!, but we haven't really been actively trying to sell them.
I had no idea that people might want one, so anybody looking for one let us know. $15 CDN. This
includes Paypal and Shipping costs. No additional fees. Brettness37 will be handling this. His email is:
thunderbowlmerch@gmail.com
Here's a picture for those of you who might not have seen it.
Again, if you want one just let us know at the email address listed above.
Cheers,
Craig.

Too bad you didn't trademark that TB logo and your motto. Otherwise, I'm almost certain that the coin manufacturer retains the copyright to their product (it's probably stated in the boilerplate somewhere in your order).

Also, it'd be funny if GW's legal dept somehow got wind of US Challenge Coins doing this. That Spike Trophy picture is GW's property and we all know how GW goes about this sort of thing.

They spelled HOME wrong in their auction.
To bad about the company they do coins for the military you would think they would be a bit more honest.

As the guy that had the coins designed and produced:
To be clear, USCC wasn't "dishonest", it just wasn't really put out there when I got the quote from them that their quote was ~$200 less than their competition's because they were going to try to sell some of the coins on their own. It's on their website, but I handled the quote entirely over email with them.
I checked with 6 or 7 different coin companies (including references from industry contacts - I talked to the folks that make Privateer Press' coins and a few others) and USCC was literally that much cheaper. And the coins are very high quality. It's a bit of a put-off to see them up for sale by another party, but we wouldn't have gotten them made at all (due to the budget) if we'd had to go through another manufacturer.
I'm slightly bummed by this situation, but I would definitely use USCC again.

They're very nice coins, love them. To be fair to USCC, I just looked on their website and they are very upfront about the fact that they will sell 15 copies of the coin to help keep costs low, unless you arrange exclusive rights with them beforehand. It's certainly not hidden away in the fine print, it's right there for all to see.

Yep, really this is my fault. I dealt with them over email and didn't look at the pricing setup on the website. So, my bad. That said, the coins are fantastic. I'm very happy with the work they did, and the price was where we needed it to be.

Well I think this was a just a case of something that was so obvious to the customer service rep that they forgot to even bother mentioning it. Fair enough. A heads up of when they were planning on putting them up on ebay would have been nice, but maybe that's on their website as well.
But again - they do nice work and other than this little mix-up I'd use them again as I now know this walking in. If I could delete this entire thread other than "here's a picture of the coin" and "here's how much it is" and "here's our contact info" then I surely would.d Any admin reading this feel free to do just that. I left the email address in the follow-up posts and edited the first post to reflect this.
