Are these really "rare"? And have they got different spiked gloves, or is it just bending of old metal?

If they are rare I'd like a GA please.

They're not really rare, in fact they're the most frequent of the 2e ogres that you see on ebay.
As for the glove/spike, well jury's still out, although popular opinion is on the side of a bend. I'm still not certain. Read this thread:
