Kill Ball is a 2 player futuresport board game that takes place in grungy arenas across a series of small American towns and Argentina. Each player controls a team of 4 vat-grown clones whose existence has 2 purposes; get the Kill Ball into the other team’s goal and maim/kill as many opposing clones as possible.

Death is not the end in Kill Ball though. Killed clones are regrown onsite and shot back into the arena at extremely high speeds with only marginally reduced abilities. And if a clone of yours should be killed several times in a row, you can just grow a new one from scratch between games.

The goal receptors in a Kill Ball arena are substandard crap. They cannot, for instance, tell the difference between the Kill Ball and a severed head. Consequently, you can score with severed heads.

In fact, the decapitated clone can be regrown, pick up their old head, and score with it. Or use it to bludgeon the player who decapitated them. Be Creative.

We also have worked out a joint venture with Neomics to provide figures for this game. Full teams are 4 players so you need 8 miniatures to play the game. We have an 8 pack of players for Kill Ball to replace all the cardboard tokens for the 2 teams. You can buy them seperately or as a set with the game.

I talked to Tom this evening. Included in the team package is the Middle Kingdoms head sprue so it will have some heads for use with the game. While these are labled Middle Kingdoms, you can see that they really are fairly generic and not very Greek themed.

i received killball a couple of days ago and finaly was able to read the rules: without any play-expierience i have to say i like it.

the box includes (served from memory, so don't nail me on it:
- 2 ten sided dice, 1 8 sided die
- lot of little markers for the players (dual sided, back side with X to mark knocked down players, 1 red and 1 blue for each player to seperate teams)
- playing field

A team consists of 4 players. With a dice roll you see who will set up the first player, then opponent sets up a player and so on until all 8 are placed - this order is also noted on the gamesheet and for the 12 turns they will move in exactly this order. Each player can do one action and a move or a move and one action (no action in between). There some free actions like handoff. You can move, attack/hit, throw. Every of this actions can have a reaction: i.e: if you guard and someone moves to you, you can hit. if you successfully attack victom can try do dodge attack, if you try to throw, they can try to intercept. All rolles are %based. so a hit value of 70 means you have 70% chance of a successfull hit (rolled with the d10's). a Roll of 1-9 or 10 (can't remember) is called a critical success and can only be countered by a critical success (i.e. ciritical success on hit can only be countered with critical success on dodge. Knocked down players can get injured (decapitation will result the head beeing a 2nd ball). Injuries can last for the game or permanently. Players move left, right, up, down, no diagonals, they do have a line of sight (only squares in front of them, not sure about sideways now). there is some team xp stuff but now much you can do - need to playtest it to see if it is enough.

From reading the rules it sounds:
- not much rules to learn (IMO positive)
- fast paced (just 4 players each, alternate movement of players)
- also reminds me a little about c64 game of Speedball (which I loved)

Tom

There seems to be a discrepency on the site for Kill Ball and the AUS$.

Are Australians able to pay the US$ price as the AUS$ is doing far better than what the site is showing it as - something like a $20 difference.

The difference in price is to cover the extra cost of shipping for the game.
