Rare unreleased Vampire Lord for sale

Hi all
In a bit of a cash-flow crisis and am thinking that I would part with my unreleased alternate Blood Bowl Vampire Lord. Well, as long as it's for enough money to make it worthwhile.
Story behind the fig is that I am the sculptor of the Vampire team and this was my original version of the Vampire Lord. GW decided that they wanted more 'footbally' boots and a helmet so I had to change it. However, they were nice enough to cast my preferred version first so I could have one (they were nice guys for that sort of thing). It's a bit of a curiosity that variants are usually a conversion of the released fig but this is the other way around in that the final release was converted from this figure. To the best of my knowledge (and I have been told) my casting is the only one ever cast and this is literally one-of-a-kind. The rights to this version were never bought from me so GW will presumably never release it, and I certainly can't as it's very much GW's IP and much of this figure is in the final version.
And, here he is...
I'm basically taking offers for him. If someone offers me enough that I think it's worthwhile I will sell to the highest bidder (or possibly where I think he'll have a good home). To be honest, I'm not sure what the minimum I'd take is. I'll just leave it open to anyone who wants to make an offer. I guess it'd have to be enough that would make my financial situation noticeably better. And, if nobody bids enough that makes me think it's worth selling then I'll just keep him (I am rather attached to the little guy). I know I could Ebay him but I'm not a fan of selling on Ebay, their cut is too large...
You can make offers by PM. Shipping will be extra. £5 in the UK (Special Delivery) and £8 elsewhere (airsure). Payment by Paypal. I can take a cheque in the UK.

Steve, nice work. Very, very nice.
I like your sculpts (as far as I know them that is) very much. But, to be honest, some are a tad small to my taste. I still like them though.
Anyway: good luck with the sale, hope they will ask you to sculpt more teams for BB in the future.
Or, that you do some teams of your own and sell them through another compagny (Impact! for instance...?).
Best regards,
JaM

love the vamp team, probably my favourite
I can't afford anything that would make anyone's financial situation viable though ;]

Guys
This mini is a rarity. Who cares what it looks like next to other minis. Take a look at the vampire and picture him without a helmet.
This is not a mini to be painted hap-hazardly or to be decided on dependant on your other minis. This is gold.
I would hesitate to even place the brush to it as it is a symbol of something that never was for Bloodbowl. If I had to however, I would only ever trust the most skillful of painters to paint such a figure.
This is a collector item, not so much a gaming piece. It worries me that so much emphasis is placed on it's size.

Froggy,
If I am gonna dump a wad of hard earned $$ on a fig I need to make sure what I am buying.
It could be a 20mm, 30mm, 80mm fig, I have no idea
I know how big a Human BB fig is and it will give me a size comparison
I see the green but what does the production model look like?
where are the mold lines?
was it a single cast or did they have to take the arm off?
how does the back of the head and cloak look?
do the boots look really that boring and drab in person?
is there any detail on the cloak or is it just some common cloth?
What do the brazers and fingers look like?
How does the face and eyes look from other angles?
He has a Helmet on? from the pic it looks like he has a bald head
All of these are reasonable questions
right now given the picture shown I might offer $7 - $10US but would not pay 8pounds for shipping outside the UK is 4 times the cost of 2pounds for a single figure.
8pounds with the figure and shipping is reasonable
As far as "rare" or "limited"
it means little or nothing without assurances
How do we know it is rare, are they numbered?
was the mold destroyed at the end of the production to insure rarity?
How many were produced 10s, 100s, 1000s, 10000s?

Take a look at

At the price you are suggesting, I am happy because mine was well above that. I do not see it going for less than 20 pounds + postage at a minimum...

So you are telling me 2 things
on the web site it says only one was made in resin
then you say , "I am happy because mine was well above that"
so you are indicating that you bought at least a second one at a higher price than I was thinking to start
is he about the same size as the Vamp team Steve sculpted?
I am hoping for Steve's sake for a unique model (not listening to you say it is not unique and that you also have one) he gets more than 20pounds

I think he means his bid was well above what you are offering.

Did you read what Steve posted above?

It's the lord from this team without the helmet and different boots.
If I had any money, I'd be after this one (I prefer it to the one in the team tbh).

Actually, re-reading your first post, I think you've totally missed the point. Steve isn't talking about selling copies of this figure (I doubt he can legally), he's talking about selling the
only copy of the figure in existance - the one that Fanatic cast up only for him.
daloonieshaman wrote:I am hoping for Steve's sake for a unique model [snip] he gets more than 20pounds
I agree here though - I would expect it to be in the 100's.

Agree 100% with Darkson here. This isn't about purchasing a figure, this is about purchasing Blood Bowl history. It won't be purchased by me, as I'm not that type of collector (nor can I afford to be), but this is the figure that makes Resurrection GRs, GT Lizzie teams, and black NAF dice look like throwaway items. My own expectation, given the nature of the BB collectors market (which is, of course, wholly different from the normal BB figures market), would be that Steve shouldn't even consider offers that don't have three digits in front of the decimal point.

Just a tought.
this is a mini GW didn't want to use for its vampire team.
Why IMPACT or so bid on that to make a production out of it?

Man, I would get a collection together just so Impact could have it to make more for the rest of us.
Hoping the man himself could roll in on this one and advise whether it is possible under the whole "not Chaos Cup Limited Edition mini but I am able to make it " type of loophole?
