eBay seller : thetrolltrader - recaster?

Hi,

What do you think to this guy: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/thetrolltrader ? He is selling OOP blood bowl and WFB models in large multiples and at very low prices. More than 10 available in many cases. Seems too good to be true. I have bought stuff from him though, and they were good quality.

check the casting on the new dwarf bomber he has listed, looks well pants

looks like recasting to me

especially as you said with the multiples of quite rare figs, eldril for example

Possibly....looks like a few of the metal minis have undergone a dose of the old sand blaster or similar. Leaves that very slighty pitted look to the flat surfaces....I could be wrong tho...

Yep, noticed these as well. I think most of his stuff is genuine, but I fail to see how anyone can have 10+ orc cyborgs/injured humans etc.

Yeah, that was what raised my levels of doubt to new heights. A unit of 5 exo-armour squats? Really? That and a BIN auction with NINE old greater daemons of nurgle.

I think this was the guy Wightlord had issues with wasn't it?

I again thought that and checked his thread regarding that

though that doesn't rule it out this is the same guy

I've bought some stuff from him, which I dont think was re-cast (as it was painted and when stripped looked genuine).

I was watching a lot of man o war auctions a while back and he was buying up alot of stuff, then putting them back on as buy it nows for about 3 times what he paid for them. So alot of his stuff is original and if you wait long enough he gives up buy it now and puts them on for a standard auction and then yo can get them for a more reasonable price.

Having said that, he may also be re-casting and hiding them amongst the rest........

there seems to be a seller called joemanji as well who keep listing loads of old second edition minis...

care to cut me a deal on tendoncutter, it is the only one i'm missing to complete my skaven

To be fair, I am buying painted shit ones and doing the work to strip them all. So I am as sure as can be that the ones I sell are genuine.

I bought some Pink Horrors from him this week. Look like recasts. Some detail missing and no GW letters on the tabs. I put some pics up soon.

I'll always do deals for TBBers.

I think this guy changed his username recently

I seem to remember buying some miniatures from a guy in St Columb (who had tons of "oop" items for sale) that turned out to be recasts

Seems a little coincidental to me

Memory is a little fuzzy, but I seem to remember emailing that guy with a fairly innocent request for some close up pictures of something and got a really bitchy reply about how he should be above suspicion with his feedback. Definite recaster IMO.
