Was I ripped?

Post by Ikterus »

So I just made my first buy on on an E-bayesque auction site (swedish variant Tradera). I'm a noob at this and got excited. Maybe I payed to much?

I bought a bundle of BB goodies. See the pic.

Image

I identified:

*2nd ed game including plastic orc team and the "Star Players" companion (the styrofoam pitch in good condition, everything looked good on the pic)

*16 player OOP Elf team (not sure which models as the pic was blurry)

*Grudgebearers (12 models)

*Death Roller, the current one or older(?)

*Champions of Death (12 models)

I payed 1300 SEK ~ 160 $ ~ 120 Euro ~ 107 GBP ~ 220 AUD

I have absoluteluy no idea what theese things go for on E-bay and other auctions sites.

I'm keeping all the stuff and won't re sell but I'd still like to know if I was ripped of or if I made a good deal.

Your currency conversions are way off! I make 1300 SEK = 109 GBP.

Prices look good, perhaps not a steal. The elves are probably worth £40-50 plus, then the dwarfs/undead ~£25ea at conservative estimates, not including the roller...There's your £100 before the book, game and roller. Reselling you'd make a decent profit probably, really depends on how you value the elves though.

Looks a solid buy to me.

Currency converison corrected. I was way off on both BGP and AUS

BTW is that the current roller or an OOP one? I can't tell for sure...

Looks like 3rd Ed to me. Same edition as the Dwarf team.

The elves alone are worth more than you paid for the whole lot.

So the deal was that good huh? :)

Well, anyhow I'm pleased and now I'm just waiting for the postman to pay me a visit with a big box of goodies.

What do you have to pay for the 2nd ed game alone nowadays? I owned it many years ago but let it go... Now I'm very glad to get it back!

Wow. Say someone was to have all the elf models (bar thrower 2), how much would we be talking...?

However much you can get someone to pay for them, Nick!

But to be more helpful.
A quick ebay search revealed one full team being completed within it's (limited) memory.

£70 for all the metal models, no 1st edition ones or DungeonBowl plastic.

I paid for a set of 2nd edition elves, the plastic Db one and the two 1st editon elves, all well painted, for £140 I think.
But it was a little while ago.

So that's not quite Joe's £100+, but I guess it depends how you sell them...
but I don't think I will. I saw a complete skaven team recently for £120ish! Some extra throwers/blitzers though.

So to summarise. A great deal if you really value those elves.

Anyway, enough of this. Back to work...

On your pic is the 3.ed Roller... the current roller would be the 5.ed one. I guess you mean the 2.ed one as OOP ?

Just check them out at my website...

btw... I´m not much more selling and buying minis at ebay for some time, but IMO its a good deal. To get the whole 2.ed elven2 in one go... not bad at all.
