Selling my world cup coin - Ends Tonight (06.11.07)

As the title suggests, I am gonna stick my world cup minis onto Ebay at the end of the week, but thought I'd give someone here the chance first. If you fancy the minis then pm me with an offer.

The World Cup coin is now listed on ebay. Please click here to look:

Item ends just before 11pm tonight.

I am probably interested in the coin. What price do you have in mind for it?

That's a bold step that'll probably raise a bit of ire and rancor. I hope you get what you hope for.

Leip ...

In my own interest and yours.

I'd sell the team through PM and the coin through Ebay.

I think you'd be very surprised at the price the coin could raise if you allowed folks to competitively bid.

I honestly believe you will be depriving yourself of a GREAT deal of cash if you sell the coin through PM only. I'm very willing to bid on this on Ebay ... but not really interested in doing the silent auction thing through PM.

Thanks Galak, will do that.

@ Canales - apologies, but given Galak's advice, I'm going to pop it on ebay as I have no clue what to ask for it.

@ Snew - I did suspect that, but I have the memories of the World Cup and the friendships and they are what are important to me. If I kept the coin it would loiter in a box and I would never see it. I fully understand why most people want to keep theirs, and do not want to offend anyone.

The reason for my advice.

Very very few of the those coins will appear for sale.

The NAF is getting ready to sell off 60 copies of the team at 50 GBP each ... so your maximum return is capped on the team.

Make sure you post a link on this thread to your auction when it goes up.

A very un-materialistic person. Those are hard to find these days. Kudos Lep :D :D

No apologies required. Galak's advice is as sensible as it gets. I will follow the auction and see if my budget allows me to bid on the coin. I hope you get a fair price for it, anyway. :)

I'll follow the auction as well, but I know I won't be able to keep up.

However ... it looks like you aren't the only one willing to sell it.

Horekim already posted an auction for the coin today.

This does give you decision now strategywise.

1) You can set up your auction to finish one day after Horekim's which means anyone who feels the first one is getting out of hand can switch over and bid on yours instead (or bid on it in the first place because they feel the 1st auction will go for too much money).

2) You can wait until Horekim's auction ends and if you like the amount ... offer it up on TBB for the amount of the 2nd highest bidder and skip the Ebay fees altogether.

Yeah, I noticed Horekim's post. You raise some points that are worth a ponder, Galak :D Will decide before I finish work today, I think.

Good luck with selling your coin Leip. :D

I like the coin, but I'd rather have some nice minis I can paint and play with. That's why I'm selling.
