I have to agree that sex sells but I'm going to attribute some of the price to the painting group. Roll Jordan has quite an impressive studio of talent who regularly win GD events.

This figure is for sale in the shop of Tritex. Now I have this figure but I am afraid I cannot paint like that. Very nice painted.

What I find to be the most remarkable about that fig is that someone is currently bidding $75 US for it!

Way too much for one fig IMHO.

Unpainted lizard cheerleaders can go for £75 so its not unheard of for a single mini (ok the lizards rare). If you take into account the time involved painting, I'd say at least 6 hours at £7 per hour thats £42 as a low estimate for his time spent. Personally I do not think its worth that money but I can see why some people with money to burn have no problem paying that.

I believe there are also collectors out there willing to buy work from well known/famous artists. There is no doubt that certain names draw in higher prices.

Wolfbane is a very very good painter and the current price is reasonable for that kind of level.
Especially the eyes and makeup are excellent :D

Well I paid £25 for my pro-painted Kaylee with turn marker conversion but I can see the appeal of spending a bit more if you really desire a piece.

Hasslefree painted mini's are after all a piece of art, size or cost is not always important in the 'To die for' category!

Nice piece!

At least someone is paying good money for a great looking mini with an actual pro-painted model..........Ive seen some scary stuff on ebay. Ive only painted for about 6 months or so and I paint to a little above gaming standard, and a lot of my stuff looks better than some of the pro-painted teams on there.........Whats the deal with the urine colored orc team for $200???

Its not hard to beat a lot of the "pro" painted material on ebay, I think I have some old hero quest figures around I painted when I was 12 that look better :D

That is a hot figure with an amazing paintjob. I have that model and very scared to paint it. One day I probably will have someone do it for me since even my best effort will make her look like a dude.

And yeah those "pro-painted" Yellow Orcs are horrible. I wonder if they were really pissed on? Would that be a wash or a glaze? :puke:
