Hey, my father-in-law a hillbilly from Iowa meant well this christmas, and went to ebay with his new internet connection to buy me a boxed set of Wood Elves.

He won the bidding and got off pretty cheaply I thought, but there is a problem.

He says he got an e-mail from ebay telling him the payment had not been received even though he sent a money order to the address in California...
He responded back to that e-mail via the link provided and sent the info of when he "paid".. But still nothing.

So, it's been a bit, and I don't care about the figs so much as I want to make sure he didn't get taken.

Anyone done any business with Paladin Games from California? He says (I don't even know how to get to ebay to check) that she (woman in charge) has done quite a bit of business there... But I'm guessing ti is easy to get fake credentials on ebay..

What is the procedure for him / to report this to ebay or track down the money/ figs or what not ?

anyone?
(I know had he asked it should have been registered mail or even some sort of pay pal or what not instead of a money order...) But

Thanks.

In Oz the post office can inform you if a money order has been chased or is still waiting to be cashed. So I'd checking with the place where he got the money order from to see if they can tell him if the money has been claimed.

Its difficult without using pay pal or your own cheques to trace and re-claim the money but that doesn't mean you are not entitled to register a complaint with pay pal as they support all complaints of foul play on E-bay.

You can also click on the community tab and enter the discussion boards - it doesn't hurt to ask if others have had trouble. If you are able to identify the sellers ID, publish it so others can be warned of potential mis dealings. :?:

If you really are having problems you can always check out his feedback and scroll down to any negative comments - click on the user ID and see if you can get them to register a complaint with e-bay also. If enough of you complain there is a chance they will sit up and listen. :o

As for getting your money back from a money order that is a tough one as Pay Pal have now stopped supporting 'western Union' & some other types of money orders and won't offer up any compensation. If all else fails just keep nagging the seller by e-mailing them the same request for a refund every week until they get sick enough to cough up!! :puke:

Best of luck though!!
