Shipping rates Europe - N. America

I think posting standard shipping rates here might be a good idea. It'd be handy for those looking to buy/sell on this forum, as well as a way to check to see if we're getting gouged for shipping on eBay.

I know there are probably postal service links for all the different countries in Europe, but a nice handy compendium here would be helpful.

To get the ball rolling:

Canada-to-Europe Small Package Shipping Rates
Air (faster, 1-2 weeks)
0g-250g $6.95
250g-500g $13.40
500g-1kg $26.25
1kg-2kg $41.00
Surface (grindingly slow, often 6 weeks or more)
0g-250g $4.95
250g-500g $6.85
500g-1kg $11.50
1kg-2kg $16.95

I used to be really harsh with regards to postage costs some ppl charge on ebay

though given ebay's outrageous charges I can see why people do that

I just look at the postage cost as part of the whole deal and bid accordingly

charging a bit more for postage (don't forget this includes packaging and the time to package it up and then going to go post it) means lower ebay charges as they charge on the initial listing starting price and then the total selling price

if that is lower and made up with some higher postage costs then the seller is getting a better deal than the other way around

of course if you get multiple listings from the same seller they should be reducing the postage as well, which cuts into their profit as much as ebay's fees would with lower postage and higher final selling cost, but actually gets you a better deal this way as well

some food for thought ;]
