Time to take care of margaretthorn ... please help

Okay regardless of what you think of margaretthorn's ebay tactics related to Blood Bowl ... I am as of today SICK AND TIRED of trying to sort through a Blood Bowl search and having 80% of the items having NO RELATION WHATSOEVER to Blood Bowl all thanks to ONE seller.

Yes I am PISSED OFF and when I get this way ... I try to take care of the source of my anger.

That said for those that do not know Ebay has a very clear rule about an auction tactic called "keyword spamming". To quote their site:
Keyword Spamming
Keyword spamming is the practice of including brand names or other inappropriate "keywords" in a title or description for the purpose of gaining attention or diverting users to a listing. Keyword spamming is unfair to members who may be searching for a specific item and receive search results of listings that are not selling the item. Users often are confused and frustrated by such tactics.

eBay guidelines
All words used to describe an item, whether in the title or description of the item page or any other way that may be found using Search, must be strictly related to the item being listed and adhere to the guidelines below.

Examples of keyword spamming that are not permitted:
Lists of words
The inclusion of words that are simply listed to promote your other items to your other eBay items. For example, it would not be permissible to state "Please view my other eBay listings for Beanie Babies, vintage Barbie's, Rolex watches, and Chanel scarves." It would be acceptable to state, "Please view my other eBay listings."
===============================================
So when margaretthorn posts this at the end of all his auctions:
Interested in Games?

I additionally trade in War games such as Warhammer - Fantasy & 40K, Blood Bowl, Hero Clix, Hero Quest and have several auctions running also if interested check it out.
THAT is keyword spamming and is a VERY clear violation of Ebay policy listed above. However, Ebay is a slow and ponderous giant that takes forever to move and get to make something happen. PLEASE help me!!!! I DO NOT want margaretthorn banned ... not at all ... but I do want to be able to search for Blood Bowl items without sorting through 3 pages of unreleated crap (ESPECIALLY Table Tennis and Snooker Balls).

So here is how you report margaretthorn for keyword spamming ... PLEASE ... Galak is begging you all to assist me on this one.

Thanks in advance for everyone who helps clean up the Ebay Blood Bowl listings.

I post all this hear because its tricky to find the right place to report this, but when 3 of the 4 pages for my Blood Bowl search have nothing to do with BB ... I need to ask for help to get that fixed.

I'm going to double post this in General as well ... so I ask for forgiveness for that now.

Done, I would just like to say though that I don't actually have a problem with this buyer for BB stuff and I have actually bought stuff off him in the past, I know his prices are a little steep but if you dont want to pay it it dont bid, but I completley agree with the table tennis crap popping up all the time so I have followed and reported him.

As have I Valen. So like I said ... I don't want the seller banned ... but the Table Tennis had me mad .... seeing Snooker now also just put me over the top I guess.

out of interest, has anyone ever emailed him "politely" about removing the offending part from his auction page?

Like you mentioned, no one wants him banned, so would he be open to at least having a simple but polite email sent to him? This may have been done of course, but there are ways of asking- such as - "OI, do it or else!" (which I would ignore personally) or a more rational approach stating the case and why, much as Galak's post is worded. Having read it I totally understand the reason for being annoyed so I'm just checking someone has at least tried a polite request. That may make him think a bit more?

Lycos,

Previous communication by folks on this site with margartthorn have not gone very well at all. More like ... "bugger off" for the message received back.

So since previous attempts to talk haven't worked very well ... bigger guns seem necessary.

Example: viewtopic.php?t=13784

Thanks Galak, I was just checking.

Im mates with Indi, so yes I knew about his altercation and he (Indi) is a very easy going and affable bloke so if he failed...well, anyway. As you say, bigger guns are required.

Just to make sure I was not overreacting ... I did a search to just find the seller items that my search was picking up.

Search use:
"Blood Bowl" "Hero Clix"
title and description

130 auction were found.

15 were for Blood Bowl .... barely more than 10% .... I'm feeling a whole lot better right now about asking for all your support on the mass reporting ... as I think this is close to as bad as he's ever done for spamming the Blood Bowl keyword.

Didn't see that ... but yeah Andy ... you are right ... you have the better part of about 120 unrelated MT auctions when you try a Warhammer Quest search ... UGH!

Hope you joined our little TBB report in here to help fix this.
