s .... (ran out of space in title)
Virtual Alchemist are doing the xmas auction and I noticed they have two original converted BB chaos thugs done by John Blanche. The auction ends tonight, would be nice to see these goto a fellow colelctors home, I'm saying out of it (after much deliberation) but someone has the minimum bid on it.
So hope it's no-one here looking for a quiet auction, if it is then sorry!

it's cheaper... but wait for the end.
Frankly, I doubt the transparency of the VA auctions. I bet they don't sell it when they feel the items going for a bargain at the end of the auction.

Two things on VA Auctions.
1) There is a lot of last minute bidding.
2) Think of all the auctions as being reserve auctions. If a rare piece goes for a bid that is too little they don't sell the piece. Most of the VA Auctions are consignment auctions for the painters or current owners of the piece.

#3 the service there of late has been exceedingly poor. James supposedly has help now so it may be better but I've had to cancel my last 2 orders because nothing ever got sent. Money was promptly returned with a nice appology but that's not much help for a collection now is it?
Maybe that's why I didn't get the email reminder about this auction. I'm blackballed.

Does anyone of the usual suspects won those players? There is no high bid displayed at VA.

They were neat but without value to me. I don't even believe them to be historically important. I didn't bid.

I had high bid at 2 pm ... but I didn't bid much at all so it would have been easy for me to not win. Like Snots ... I didn't see much value in them as they have no historical importance (ie never been published in a mag).
Only bid $20 so I'm sure I didn't win.

It was $33 last time I looked. I put in a max of $30 because they weren't

more importantly, they were just not remotely attractive models..
Galak, out of interest, would you buy an ugly model for inflated prices just because it had been published in BB mag or some such?

Yes ... if you could prove it was that item and the mag had been an official GW publication.
I'm not very impressed with Phil's paint job on the Chaos All-Stars to be honest ... but I love having that team. There are a couple other models in my collection that fall in that category for me in my collection.
